Insight Thanks Tracy for your blog "final thoughts". Gave me a lot of insight into our own lifestyle. And yes we do have a lot of young persons staying alone independent and happy. You would probably meet a lot of them if you visit Bangalore. But we value our family centred lifestyle a lot. You are always welcome along with any of your team mates
Welcome Home Welcome home and thank you all for your blog updates. This final 'round up' post was particularly interesting. I remember regularly visiting Calcutta and the driveway to the hotel was lined with cardboard box housing and the people lived by raiding the bins of the hotel! However, that was before satellite TV; you've got me wondering now whether they also have satellite dishes!
Highway Code!! Thanks for sharing these photos - they have brightened up my day :) With wonderful colour and crazyness. Not long now and you'll be on your return journey to the UK. We look forward to hearing all about your experiences in the coming months. Have a safe journey takes on a different meaning after seeing these photos.
Sounds like you are getting so many brilliant experiences, the national park looks beautiful, it's lovely to see the photos to support the blog.
best wishes

Last Lap I'm sure that I speak for everyone back here in the UK when congratulating you all on the wealth of information which you have shared with us during the past 4 weeks. You have all clearly had a great time and I'm sure you will have made a lasting impression on your Indian hosts. All you've got to do now is put together a presentation for us!!
See you all at M/C airport on Saturday.

Surprised Based on what has been said earlier in the blog, I'm surprised that there are not more volunteers helping this gentleman in the centre.
It must be so humbling to see his dedication tot he centre and to the people though.
KFC? Remind me to buy some shares in KFC.
Seems like you're all having a great time - hope you're learning lots to share with us when you get back - not long now..!!
Wonderful reading Hi Tracy, So nice to read your blog and get a sense of what you are all experiencing first hand. To get the opportunity to be a part of their national polio immunisation day is something else. I look forward to reading more and sense there will be great sadness on your final day.
Such a varied day Hi Di,
Great to read this blog and to hear about your day seeing Rotary in action via an Interact Club and the End Polio Now campaign. Really liking your blogs and the photo of you administering the polio drops is very moving. Your personal interest in yoga sounds like it has moved to a new level - I look forward to hearing all about that when you return - remember you do need to come back !! Members of RC of Carlisle Castle send their regards to you all.
Sounds like a real eye opener on how the other world lives, and what would happen to these people without the devotion of the sponsor.
You seem to be really experiencing the extreme diversity of life in India.
Excellent blog - thanks for the comprehensive coverage Hi all,
I am Arun from Rotary Mysore. I had briefly spoken to you during the formal GSE meeting we had on the evening of the 17th Jan at the Mysore Club House. I am the editor of the Chamundi bulletin that was presented to you that night. I must say your presentations were excellent.
Thanks for the detailed coverage of all the places you are visiting in our state. It is a pleasant reminder for some of us here who might have visited them a long time back or not at all.
Keep the blog going...
Thanks again

Hi
Did you get any pictures you can upload?
I think it's important we see all aspects of life in India, not just the attractive things.
Its great to get feedback from all of the team, on all the fantastic experiences you are having: the people you meet & stay with; vocational & cultural visits; Rotary people, clubs & projects; & anything else of interest....
Putting your skills to test! Hi Tracy
Good to see you on the other side of the fence when it comes to the media! I'm sure it was a breeze - you've advised many on interviews so I'm sure putting this to the test wasn't much of a problem. Everyone is reading the blog - we keep telling everyone about what you're up to and sending them the link to read all about it. You're getting famous across the uni! Take care L x
Thank you! Thank you, we are all having a great time. I know Julie and Fiona will be going mad about all of the misatkes i keep seeing in the text but we are writing so quickly and publishing without checking....oops! It really is great and we are seeing and doing so many things that we would never have had a chance to do without coming on this trip. Everyday, so many things happen. I can never decide which bits to add into the blog or leave out. It's long enough as it is. I will tell all when i'm back in the office. x
Safari transport Exciting times with the wild animals, but some kind of armoured car would have been my preference in the circumstances, rather than a converted jeep. I think you're all very brave.
So many different experiences! It's amazing how much you are getting to see & do. I'm sure many of us are wishing we were there to share the experience.
Thanks for your regular updates & photographs, looking forward to hearing all about it when the team gets back.
Best wishes Jennifer ~ RC of Carlisle Castle
fascinating stories really interesting tales from India - life will be just that bit boring in England when you get back,
ps snow is forecast for us, but don't let that bother you!
We are taking part in the Rotary D.1190 (Cumbria and Lancashire) Group Study Exchange to India Rotary D.3180 (Karnataka). Although mainly based in Mangalore, we will be travelling throughout Karnataka in South West India. The trip takes place from 2 January 2013 until 2 February 2013. As well as visiting many historical and religious places, we will each spend five days learning about our individual sectors and how they function in India. Throughout the trip we will live with Rotarians and their families, experiencing and enjoying their culture and hospitality.
