Well big day today we both slept in till 9:00am latest since starting the trip. No sight seeing today purely shopping. Went to MDK shopping centre started slow, until we got to 3rd floor thats when we found all the clothing and stuff. One thing we noticed is that if you don't buy any of the knock offs and buy genuine your basically pay the say as home. 7hrs of shopping back to hotel for rest then more shopping now I've got my head right. Then massage go to bed and up early for 5:00am start. Breakfast with the monks and tigers so hopefully I'll have some good shots. I think I took 20 shots today and there all boring.... read more

Well know in Bangkok, the drive from Siem Reap was easy going and quite enjoyable. It helps to have good drivers and mine certainly were. The border was interesting and a bit unnerving, we placed our trust in a trolley pusher and looking back I don't know if it's such a good idea as you have to put your complete trust in this guy who has control over your luggage which you do lose sight of. Anyway the plus side is he was completely helpfull and it was an extremely long walk across the border. I was surprised when we got to luggage inspection that as a foreigner that we were just waved through with our trolley pusher. As everyone else was being searched and patted down. Well we got through and the trolley pusher took ... read more

Today went to the Ta Phrom Temple commonly know known as he Tomb Raider Temple. It was amazing to see these massive roots covering the temple. Unfortunately they are also destroying the temple but I think they are in the process of removing the trees. I must admit I'm sick of the tourists that run around in the same coloured t-shirt following a matching flag. They are like excited ants crawling over you to get a good picture. Also we are over all the hawkers it is just constant every foot of the way. Today Karen and I also went to a silk farm and walked through the process of making silk and weaving, its actually quite fascinating to observe. Also it's actually free even though we indulge in some silk products at the end. Karen ... read more

Well I lasted 3 days without mentioning the war, but it's all I can think of to explain all the traffic lights, solid white lines, double white lines, pedestrian crossings etc. They could only have been put here during the war because no one in Vietnam knows what they mean. Going down a windy mountain road and overtaking trucks on a double white line really gets the heart going. I also have learnt that footpaths are for parking and roads are for pedestrians. As far as the motorcyles go I thought I'd seen everything cause they carry anything and everything and they can fit a family of 5 on a moped, but today I saw a family of 4 on a moped and mum on the back breast feeding her child. This place has the biggest ... read more

Well I'm in Darwin the flight was good well worth paying the $25 to be next to the emergency doors. We hit a slip stream and everyone was ordered back to their seats but that only lasted for 15 mins. A woman behind me had a panic attack and the stewards had to administer oxygen and soothing conversation, I was ready to offer my drugs there great. Had the softest landing ever at Darwin airport, didn't even feel the wheels touch. Also there's a joint exercise happening in Darwin at the moment so there was lots of different military aircraft at the airport. Had a meal on the wharf stayed up till 2300 Melbourne time. It was fantastic to lay in bed covered just by a sheet and all the windows open and still be toasty ... read more
