Safety advice Well, I guess you would rather have the "safety advice" ahead of time, instead of a disaster happening and then the driver saying, "I should have told you that......".
You are having culinary as well as visual experiences! Would you eat kangaroo again?
Looks like you are having too much fun. We could use some of the heat back in Canada, down to -7C a couple of nights ago. Zip up those sleeping bags, to not let any "friends" in.
Good on you for making the climb!! It is a little warmer since the mini cold snap but nothing like what you are experiencing. You are lucky to be going to Ayer's Rock on this trip. As of next year no one will be allowed to climb it. Who we saw in the play last night was Sandra Urquart who graduated in 1969. It was a spoof on Agatha Christie's life. It took me nearly 45 minutes to get from Verdun to Helen's apartment in NDG - construction and detours everywhere!!!

Having coffee with a retired Australian teacher from Canada. She is on heresy to teach st an outback station; working with REVISE (retired educator volunteers for isolated student exercises )
We arrived in Coober Pedy at 5:00 . We’re in the middle of nowhere, 12 hours north of Adelaide in the outback; have to wait until 8:00 for someone to pick us up from the petrol station, so we watched the sun rise. There are no taxis and no public transport . We’re staying in an underground
hotel; 50 percent of people live underground because it’s too hot. Leaving for ALICE springs tomorrow .
Freeezing here Of course Marion is going to be the first one on the bus. Who wants to be stuck in the back seat. It is -7 here with a wind chill of around -17 but the sun is shining. Har to believe a week has gone by so soon. Thanks for all the notes. Hugs Sue
Have read all the blogs! What a great way to document your trip. The fruit comment reminds me of all the notices every time you leave the cruise ship. When I got off the ship in one stop in Mexico, I had an apple in my bag. The fruit was dumped in a bin and I was given a real dirty look. Oops! It was the last time I did that! Today is Remembrance Day. I am going to the Legion for the parade. It is going to be really cold. I will have to bundle up. Will read your new blog tonight when at Helen's in Montreal. I am staying there after spending the evening with Ellen.
You look so nice and warm! It is finally winter here. Minus 20 yesterday with the wind chill. Your pictures help to make me warmer. Sounds like a great trip. Where do you find the time to do the blogging? Great way to share pictures and trip details. I am seeing Ellen today in Montreal. We are going to a play in Verdun tonight. Someone from our year is in the play but I can't remember who this morning! Will write again soon. Louise
We are very warm. Did some sand duning today. They actually rent sand boards here. We spent two days on Kangaroo Island . Totally awesome! Ferdy is doing most of the blogging . Watch for pictures of the sand dunes, sea Lions in the beach; New Zealand fur seals on the beach ; native birds; pristine beaches and more. It’s was over 35 degrees and sunny; blazing hot day to be sand boarding !!
from mary ellen not sure if my comment was forwarded. Are you going to the Zoo and if so watch out for the emus. Glad you are having such a nice time eating and tramming..................mem
Sounds like a good start to your adventure. Hope you see the penguins Glad you made it safe. Snowed a bit here in sault ste. marie so enjoy the weather...:)
Wow Looking forward to reading your blog and revisiting Australia with you . We were there in 2007 for 30 days and travelled by Greyhound bus as well 75% of the time. We did the three day outback trip around Uluru; it was a blast.
Have fun!
Bon voyage Hey
I thought you were leaving on the 7th. So sorry I didn’t call to say have a great trip. But here are our Bon voyage and enjoy wishes. Looking forward to following along. Lots of rain here today. Nancy
Let the Adventure begin! Hi there Marion and Ferdy: we are looking forward to following you on your Australian Adventure. We will enjoy reading about your take on some of things we did way back in 2015. Enjoy!
We are Ferdy & Marion and live in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, one of our country's most desirable places to live. We’ve been married for more than 30 years, are “somewhat” retired and love to travel. Have a look at our blogs, you might like it!... full info
