Steveston is awesome
I had friends who lived a 10 minute walk from the Steveston docks ad piers. It is a beautiful area to spend an afternoon walking and taking in the sights and sounds.

COOPER PEDY
Lesley who was awaiting the mailman to take me out to volunteer for School of the Air on the Odnadatta Track. We ate together in the " servo". On the return trip the station owners left me with the priest before I caught the night Greyhound. An amazing coincidence that can only be told ! Another one of those increditable encounters that happen on the road ..

Would you mind providing more detail? We remember chatting with two people that morning. Not sure which one you might be?

You're right about Westjet
On my last two flights with Westjet they ran out of food by about aisle 18 or 19. It seems to be a trend. Glad your trip is going so well. Looking forward to hearing about the details in person.

Welcome home
We enjoyed reading your nearly everyday blogs and seeing your photos. Sounds like a once in a life time trip! And it sounds like you will need a holiday after your holiday to rest and recover!

it's all in the detail!
I giggled over the "tmi" comment. It was fun following you both on this epic adventure. Get some well deserved sleep. Will talk to you later this week. Louise

Continued adventures......
What a great set of experiences you two are collecting as you travel. There are indeed strange things on this planet that defy conventional thinking. There was a pretty layer of snow on the ground today. Makes you believe that Christmas is just around the corner. xx Louise

spectacular views
The gorges are gorgeous! Tee hee! You really have seen places in Australia that the normal tourist doesn't get to see. You were wise to spend extended time on this vacation, but you might need a vacation from your vacation when you get home! Louise

Travelling along with you.
Wow! Isn’t is great all you are seeing and doing. We are following your blog and rereading our own blog for the places you are travelling to. You are spending more time in the places than we did and so we are enjoying reading about things like the reptile museum. Enjoy the heat it is cold and snowing here today. Bravo to you both for the hikes you’re done. For me the King's Canyon hike was so awesome it remains my highlight. Nancy & John
19th November 2017

You guys must have lost several kilo's, considering all the walking.
19th November 2017

Yes Toni, maybe, but we also ate and drank a bit more.

Great blog -
I commend both of you for your stamina in the Outback. Like you Marion, if I saw that snake I would want to be sleeping inside somewhere. The photo of the double rainbow was worthy of a National Geographic Magazine cover! This is a great way for us to experience your trip as you are going along. Louise

Brave Soles
Thank you for the run down on your very interesting trip. What brave soles you are. Have you lost any weight yet? Katie just informed me about the brown snake. She seems to know alot about snakes in Australia. Tonight is the volunteer dinner at the church. We are expecting freezing rain and snow this afternoon and 9 cm of snow tomorrow so enjoy your warm weather. Take care Sue, Tony and Katie.

Hi Sue: we’re in Alice Springs now and leaving on a 17 hour bus trip to Katherine tionight at 7:00. Alice Springs is much larger than we thought . Walked around sight seeing yesterday . It was 39 degrees. Lots of aboriginees here; mostly drunk. There are limits on how much alcohol one can consume. We had to show our passports to buy a bottle of wine. We had dinner last night at a huge casino complex. I played some slot machines. $15.00 was gone in no time . Ferdy refused to play; Said he would buy 3 beers instead; the camping trip was challenging but awesome . We skipped the hike up heart stack hill and walked along the base of king’s canyon instead. I now understand why there are seniors tours; on the way home to Alice Springs Ferdy and I went camel riding; even trotted. Camels have a mind of their own. Hi to all at church; visited an underground church in Coober Pedy; took lots of pictures. Tell Katie we went to a reptile museum yesterday. We’ll show her the pictures when we get back . Marion
