Hong Kong is a wonderful place, so vibrant and full of life! When we went there in January it was very hot and humid and I was totally unprepared for that haha, but still, we enjoyed every moment! The food is amazing, Dim Sum is just first class! And the egg tarts.. you gotta love them! In the afternoon we took a train up the mountain to the view point, the evening sky-line is stunning! After that Jae took me on a ferry ride between Hong Kong islands, to see the laser show - this is my number 1 unforgettable moment in life, nothing compares to this, especially when you're there with the right person, listening to u'2 "City of Blinding Lights" Next day we went to Buddha Mountain is Hong Kong - and man, was ... read more

One of the most memorable experiences in Korea is surely eating out! Yes, I am a Kimchi lover, but not only Kimchi, as I truly love everything about korean cuisine! Especially the fact that it's so healthy.. so many veggies included in every meal.. such a breath-taking variety of side dishes.. I love it all! Unfortunately it didn't occur to me at that time to take pictures of food.. which i truly regret now, but trust me when I say - Korean cuisine is AWESOME! Especially Kimbab, Bibimbap. Korean BBQ, Samgyeopsal.. aahhh and of course everything with Kimchi, like Kimchi soup, Kimchi fried rice.. While being in Korea you can not afford to miss out on drinking out either. For this purpose I think the best solution is to find one of those street tents with ... read more

Co-Ex Aquarium in Samseong-dong, Seoul Today we went to look around the city shopping malls, took long walk along the Han river, tried some local street food (I really recommend fish-shaped cakes with red bean paste inside.. they are just super yummy!).. While exploring the mall we found a huge Hello Kitty store, where Jae bought me enormous HK mascot among few other super precious and cute things :) Then we went to Co-Ex Aquarium in Co-Ex mall :) It's home to 4,000,000 sea animals from 600 different species. Everything from vicious sharks and piranhas to tiny, delicate sea horses. There's also a collection of over 200 sea plants. A feeding relay is held every Tuesday from 14:00 where people are able to feed animals from piranhas to moray eels. There's even a small aquarium ... read more

Deoksugung Palace Deoksugung, also known as Gyeongun-gung, Deoksugung Palace, or Deoksu Palace, is a walled compound of palaces in Seoul that was inhabited by various Korean royalties until the Japanese occupation of Korea around the turn of the 20th century. The buildings are of varying construction, including some of natural cryptomeria wood, painted wood, and stucco. Some buildings were built in Western style. In addition to the traditional palace buildings, there are also an art museum, forested gardens, and a statue of King Sejong the Great at Deoksugung. The palace is located near the City Hall Station. Deoksugung, like the other "Five Grand Palaces" in Seoul, was intentionally heavily destroyed during the Japanese occupation of Korea. Currently, only one third of the structures that were standing before the occupation, remains. Info: Wikipedia ... read more

City Hall Ice Sculptures In front of Seoul City Hall there was an exhibitions of Ice Sculptures :) We got to "took a ride" in a cute ice car - it didn't get us very far, but surely got our pants wet :) The City Hall itself was decorated with beautiful Christmas lights.. so wonderful at night! It's a must see for everyone visiting Seoul during Winter time! ^___^ Gyeongbokgung palace Gyeongbokgung, also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, is a royal palace located in northern Seoul, South Korea. Day One of our trip Namdaemoon Gate in Seoul Sungnyemun or more commonly known as Namdaemun is a historic gate located in the heart of Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The landmark is officially called Sungnyemun, literally "Gate of Exalted Ceremonies," as written in hanja on a plaque on the wooden structure. As the southern gate of the original walls surrounding Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty, it is widely known as Namdaemun, literally "Great Southern Gate." It is the first among the National Treasures of South Korea. However, because the Japanese advocated the name Namdaemun during their colonization to erase the Korean Empire's spirit, people are increasingly calling the gate Sungnyemun. The wooden portion atop the gate was severely damaged by arson in the 2008 Namdaemun fire. Namdaemun is currently undergoing restoration, which started in ... read more
