Seems like they don't sleep in Paris! I remember that from when we were there too. I loved the Versailles blog and all the pictures and look forward to the blog every day. It's almost like being there. Hope you sleep tonight.....Mom
Cool! I'm so jealous you had the chance to go here! Mark and I wanted to go but just couldn't fit it in. Nice pictures! Glad you're having a good time. Get some sleep.
Meri
I love hearing about everything. All the pictures are great. And thanks for the picture of the pelican gargoyle. You all look like you're having a great time. Enjoy yourselves! Love, Mom
Long Days of Fun It sounds like you are packing in a lot of great experiences into your days. Keep the great photos coming. Lani especially loved the pix of the Notre Dame gargoyles. Be safe and rest your feet when you can.
Paul.
I'm Impressed Hey guys - I hope your having fun and staying safe ..... looks like there was a small time zone adjustment needed after that long trip ..... one of those 35 Starbucks in Paris may help.
Doug I am impressed you are able to use the french names so well in the blog .... three must have been some Rosetta Stone lessons involved here.
Enjoy Paris -
Glenn
Looks and sounds like fun so far. Keep up the pepi le pew act and you guys will be just fine. Hope Charlene gets feeling better and eat some yummy croisonts for me.
Glad you made it safe and sound Enjoy your time in Paris. Speaking of strikes... Progressive IT has shut down for the next two weeks. We are not taking any new requests in Sacramento, they are all being transfered to Phoenix.
Wine and baguettes make the best breakfasts.
Au revoir.
Good job! Wow! What an adventure! It sounded like such a difficult hike to take on, but you did it. Great pictures, too. I think my quads cramped up just looking at the photos of the switchbacks--oh my stars, that looked like hell! Those alpine pictures are stunning. And the marmot!! How cool is that!?! I wonder what it was doing at the summit....seems weird. While Half Dome is not as daunting, Mark and I will be hiking that in September, so your story and pictures make me want to do Half Dome even sooner. Great job, bros!! :)
Love,
Meri
I think those fermenters are for show... With the amount of people coming through that room every day, and because they are within distance for someone to throw they gum, coins, whatever, I have to imagine those aren't the actual fermentors. They do have open fermentation though, so they must be in another section of the cellar... Pretty cool though.
I love the pictures of the cathedrals. Considering the age of them, it is amazing that they could have been constructed so well and so massive. It must have been exciting to be so close to the Vatican. I am not Catholic but I respect their beliefs and the Pope. I hope you get into St. Peters before you leave. I also enjoyed the pics of your time in Florence and meeting up with Brandee, Bruce, and Alex. Hope all is going well with them and they are finding their way around as well as you have managed. Love, Joan
Ok, so I'm a little confused. I mean, I have heard about open fermentation, but I never believed it. So, how do they keep out those nasty infecting microscopic nasties all brewers fear like the plague? Or do they want those little buggers? And that is one HECK of a mashtun, don't you think?
WOW! What a couple of days, the first day in Florence had me feeling bad for you guys, heat, walking, confusion, nobody's favorite things but the second day had me roaring, Doug, it sounds like you got the better of Florence in the end, I hope Rome is fun. Loved the pictures.

Ah, the joys of public transportation! Glad you made it to where you needed to go. Is it easy to find people there who speak English and can help you find your way? Hope so. I realized I forgot to ask earlier if Rhiannon was able to converse in German earlier in the trip. The vineyards look really inviting! Take care--
Meredith
Sounds like Planes, Trains and Automobiles only adding the complication of the language barrier. The villa looks spectacular, probably a nice contrast from all the crazy travelling. Now you can kick back and take it easy, just like the Dude would have intended. Sorry, had to say it. Hope the rest of the trip goes smooth.
That whole adventure sounds tense and frightening, so glad you are there now and can relax and enjoy.
Please tell Brandee that it was a relief to see that they were alive and well, next time we need to arrange some contact, every time I talked to anyone in the family they would ask if I had heard from them, I told everyone that we would know if they made it when you all met up, hmmmm!
We are enjoying the adventures and the pictures. Have fun.
Love

Love the pictures. I think the best indication that you're having a great time is the fact that your written entries get smaller each time. I don't blame you, I would just be soaking it all up myself. It's really fun to see your vacation almost as quickly as you're experiencing it. It's also hard to fathom a city that's been there for 850 years. By the way, Tyler looked like he enjoyed that beer entirely too much. I hope you like Italy as much as Germany.
Hello The pictures are just wonderful. It looks like you guys are getting some great weather. Looking forward to Italy through the blog. Jesse
ps. that looked like a really big beer!

Pigeon?
Pigeon? Really? I wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole! Hope you don't get Aspergillosis! Looks like a fun day! Meri
