Those bloody anacondas So great to read your blogs...they are bringing back happy memories now I am back in the UK and working hard again! I totally agree with your views on the anaconda hunting, but am jealous you got to eat your piranha! I gave mine to the guy and he took it home for his tea! grr!! Good luck with the rest of your travels.

well done Wonderful pics, thanks Cath. You're incredible you two! And I think you've got a career waiting for you in journalism. Your diaries read really well - hidden talents. And I'm getting to know you better each time too - scaryafter all this time.
Take care - onwards and upwards
Wow Like Cath, always wanted to do Machu Pichu, so looking forward to next instalment. Amazing blog, especially when you read it all in one, like I've just done. Envy you your stamina.

Wow! Your blog makes us so excited - we fly out there tomorrow from Guayaquil and can't wait to find some sealions to swim with. I just hope we are hald as lucky as you at seeing the animals!

Cahuita Hey, we volunteered with ANAI. you can go to cahuita or Gandoca which is further down the coast. There are other orgs too across CR and they are listed in the L-Planet. The cabins were Alby Lodge... def recommend it there. They have a rancho too so you can cook if you want (and a bbq). Email me if you want more.... ps watch your bags like a hawk in CR esp on the buses and on the beach!
Voluteering Hello, I have been following your blog as we are heading to CR in August and spending three months. Could you please provide some details on this experience? What was the name of the cabins? How did you arrange to volunteer at the park? Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.
Doing it the hard way You guys are really good at the travelling thing!! I can see an appeal in the future for ransom money!!
Hope your armheals fast Cath and Rich enjoy being a hairdresser, bra do-er-up-erer, and alround boy Friday

I think there were a few times back there when we didn't really believe it ourselves! BUT, after 10 years in London, the jobs have been packed in, the flat is sold, and the boxes of our stuff are on the boat to Dunedin. We are taking the long route there though through Costa Rica, South America, a quick trip to Australia, and NZ for Christmas. This is a... full info
