which google had located, but which didn’t exist These posts keep betting funnier and funnier. The main theme seems to be: "which google had located, but which didn’t exist." Google is having you on. It has lured you to Morocco with promise of things which aren't there.
However the Berber women drummers sound fabulous so I am glad they existed.
Yes, I don't think google is very welcome over here. No street views available. I think Moroccans are worried about spies and google is a bit spy-like. There's another band on tomorrow but we won't be here then...
Weather good in Marrakech but cold at night and mornings, quite hot here though 24C, but cool in rooms and at night. Haven't seen a camel yet that could take me - need a giant one! Will pass your wishes to Mike - we're going to hotel bar soon (think he needs a drink...)
corridor That corridor photo is great! That should be blown up to be a poster for your sitting room. And my sitting room. And everyone's sitting room. It is well composed.
Didja see any snake charmers? Or too cold for snakes, maybe.
Snakes & Henna Patterns Michael saw a snake charmer and had a cobra draped around his neck, but didn't want a photo of himself so clothed, so charmer took it off again. I'm not a fan of animal tricks anywhere - saw the dove cart in Jemma el Fna where they fly over the crowds, showing white under the dark evening skies. Looks good but they perch on a metal rod which is electrified to make them fly around. Glad I didn't see any poor monkeys either. We are now in Ouarzazate after coach over the High Atlas (more on that in next blog - plus 1). May try to buy henna patterns here if I see any.
Still thinking about ROCK I had the same overwhelming moment when I went to the London Natural History Museum for the first time, and you go into a room and all of the sudden there is a LIFE-SIZE BLUE WHALE taking up most of the space. It was the same moment of WHOA. THAT THING IS REALLY BIG.
Here is a really good thing to buy in the souk: intricate cut-out patterns for hand henna designs. You should get them for all your friends. They pack really small because they are flat. Your sisters, you have many of them, will love them.
Lovely surprise! I didn’t even know you were off and away again. A treat to follow your trip. Think I ought to explore Malaga if I visit my mate in the mountains again. Well done for managing all those steps but go steady. Looking forward to next instalment. Thanks for including me. Enjoy all. Love A xx
Didja see The Rock? When Simon and I drove down to Algeciras from Malaga, that turn where you suddenly see THE ROCK looming, 80 times bigger than you expected, was gobsmacking. It is staggeringly large. And you sort of float past it on the ferry over to Morocco. My goodness, that is a very large ROCK. Shouldn't it be called the Mountain of Gibralter? Then I'd have been prepared to see it, looming, all giant. And full of wild monkeys. Have a fine time in the souk. Don't forget to rock the Casbah. Lots of rocks on this trip.
I did see the Rock Amy, but it was looming through the dawn rain as our coach got near Algeciras. Didn't see it on the ferry from Tarifa but we were on the other side of the boat. Talk about Brit Rock!
As long as you like it! You do not have to edit anything. I am just glad you like the title suggestion -- it can go on the eventual book and movie. Meanwhile, you have to tour and rubberneck and sample the local cuisine! You are our man in Cruz de Humilladero! Simon and I spent a week in a Malaga flat once, and took the ferry to Tangiers. Ole!
Barber to Berber That's a great name for my blog. Unfortunately this site is very hard to use and I think I am just adding to my India blog, rather than creating a separate one... I am a technophobe at heart.
Happy holidays! Hope you have a great time, bon voyage! Looking fwd to seeing the pics. Fossils say "love from Sheesh and George". Same from Gordy and me xxxx

Trick question!
Spot, of course, is a cat.
