Oh yap, I forgot! If building on the hillsides is the only place for them to build, I'll pray harder for them, I'd rather all those people stay in California because we are already too crowded in Montana!!!!
What, no Vikings? I was wondering if your visit to the fair included Indian Tacos and Vikings dripping down your arm and off your elbow!! What memories of the Richland County fair that brings to mind!
Wow! Beautiful Wonderful pictures Vic. Of course I am envious that Mike and Joan got to hug you and visit. We just got back from 5 days at the cabin. You talk about snow!!! We drove the Ranger through 1 1/2 - 2 ft snow. I worked wonderful. And yest it was so peaceful and beautiful to look out on that snow without any human markings on it. I think at your camp I would love to sit on the benches and nap while listening to the water flow. We love you!!
No boogey men here... When we were inside, we could see the fog rolling past the window. And I thought that was spooky! You never see movies of happy things coming out of the fog, do you?!
Ads I don't usually see the ad page, and that's very interesting! I guess it's better that they're tacking on ads for those products rather than some other products!!
Are you interested in buying any rain gear? (I might be able to make a profit here!!!)
Snow vs Rain We've been watching your snow totals on the news~~I didn't think Salt Lake usually got that much. Aren't you the lucky ones to be there for this experience?!!! But I hear you about the need.
Thanks for your prayers. Always, thanks.
Adds on your page They must coordinate the adds to keywords in your titles, I couldn't help notice they were trying to sell, rain boots, rain wear, rain gauges today as I gazed at your rain pictures.
And it is -17 as I write!

rain We have been getting some of the same systems but by the time they get here they are snow instead of rain. Our first winter in Utah and they are getting more snow than they have had in about 25 years. The snow pack in the mountains is about 150%of normal. I shovel (blow) the driveway at least four days a week but like the people there, we shouldn't complain. This area has had very little moisture for the past several years.
We are continuing to pray for Megan.
Palm Springs & San Diego I'm surprised that the golfer in you doesn't like Palm Springs!!! We go there in the winter quite often to get a few games in while it is cold and snowy in Montana. We actually like Palm Desert better as far as the shopping and restaurants go. We'll be there the end of January.
Also, a comment on San Diego. I did a city tour there once and was informed that was all desert until they created the big aquaduct for water and brought in all the palm trees and other vegitation. None of the green stuff you see there is native to the area. We love San Diego too - for the same reasons as we love Palm Springs only add the addition of the beaches and Sea World!!! We toured the aircraft carrier that is docked permanently there (can't remember the name), but it was very interesting. Loved your kite pictures! I haven't seen that type before.
Thanks for always sharing with us!!
See 'ya in December!!
Love 'ya, Joan
san diego I can totally relate to you pictures today. Two years ago I had a meeting in Palm Springs and after two days of looking at the barren mountains decided the palm trees and beautiful golf courses would not be enough to keep me there. Twice Q and I have been to San Diego, one for a conference where we got to do a lot of sight seeing and 4 hr adventure on a whale watching boat (don't waste you money - the only whales we saw were in our imagination!). Then this Spring our cruise departed from San Diego. I loved waiting to depart and watch the planes fly in and sail boats drifting by. The city is beautiful. Be sure and do Coronado.
Back with you! Finally had a chance to catch up with you, had been wondering where you were in respect to the fires in CA. How long have you had this thing for trees??? Actually they are very unusual! Keep on keeping! Love you!
Carrell is my west coast consultant... even though she now lives in Montana! She also reminded me that in Spanish, moreno means brown....Moreno Valley depicts its name very well!
catawpa trees Not sure of the spelling, but believe the hacked trees are catawpa trees. They cut them back in the fall, and in the spring and summer they produce branches of large leaves, great for shade, with pretty smelling flowers and eventually poisonous pods. We had them in WA, too.
Thank you for your comment, but believe me when I say it's my pleasure to share. And yes, I agree with your statement about seeing different things that you'd expect to see outside of Montana. One of the things that keeps surprising me, is that there are so many different kinds of everything; I thought there was one kind of oak tree, and there are many; one kind of sea gull, and there are many; one kind of blue jay, and there are many. I feel like I think waaaay too small!
Soooo Pretty If I didn't know you weren't here in Montana, it would be so easy to think you were out somewhere around here. Its great to see that there are still areas like that in california. I was just thinking that we all are learning through your blog and experiences along with you. Its great seeing places and learning details about them we otherwise wouldn't get a chance to. Thank you for including us.
The signs are small, and are throughout the property, so they're not at all disctracting. Some of them are on the walkways, some are on the hiking trails, and some are on the roads, but they may be hanging in the trees, as well as standing on posts. I just found one in the lobby yesterday...it's a suggestsion box, and it's hanging about 10 feet off the ground, and is upside down! Obviously our suggestions are important to them! But all the times we've walked through the lobby, we'd never seen it until yesterday. Now we look for the signs whenever we're moving from one place to another,
We retired the end of 2006, and started traveling the country, working with RVICS~~Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service. (Pronounced R-VICS.) We live and travel in our motor home, and work at Christian camps, schools and conference centers accross the country. RVICS isn't affiliated with one denomination; rather, it's a Christ faith based ministry. We don't travel as a group, but whoever is assigned to a particular project meets up on the beginning date. We're on each project about four weeks.
