Day 22 We are locked and loaded… the truck is packed, well more like over stuffed, we cratered and bought a roof rack as we have no room inside with 5 people plus all camping gear… I really want to know how mom and dad did it when we were kids… lol. The poor truck sags pretty hard in the back and doesn’t exactly want to hold any high speeds on hill climbs… dropping from 100 to about 75 on a good climb, of course were not flooring it as we are trying to save fuel but I’m sure that little 3 litre is ready to tell me to “F” off… We had a short drive today of only 2.5 hours to get to Noosa where I had booked a camp for us. It sounded off ... read more

Day 21 Off to the wildlife sanctuary we go, currumbin sanctuary that is. And what an amazing place it is. A wide variety of animals on display and if you look hard enough you can even find your share of spiders and birds not on the list, Right upon entering you end up at the koala station where you can pay to hold one and have your picture taken, we opted to just take a few snaps from the fence. They sure look cuddly, that was Jackie’s favourite part. Both Jackie and Sean enjoyed getting up-close and petting the kangaroos though, I would have to say that was a very neat experience. After another hour of walking we seen some very healthy looking dingo’s and stopped in at the reptile show. Everyone was having a great ... read more

Day 20 Today was the best day of the week so far, LOL. We picked up our new truck, aka - “Peana” which is the nickname the last owners gave and we thought it bad luck to change it. It sure is nice not to have to walk everywhere. ... read more

Day 17 It was another hot day in Paradise, we spent most of the day relaxing and the boys went for a nice swim while I stayed at the house and did some laundry and tiding up! They both agreed that the water was nice although it was a bit rough. No one is complaining about all the down time since we will be leaving here next Friday and there will be a lot of things to do! At about 5 o’clock we headed to the pub Kristin works at so that we would arrive shortly before she would be getting off work. Joel spent the day at the horse races so we ended up meeting him at the pub as well. A few drinks turned into a few more and before we knew it, we ... read more

Day 16.5 continues... The adventures of Matt and Sean .....Lots of beautiful scenery and they got some good pictures of some wildlife. Birds and they even got lucky and seen a huge lizard. They both agreed that they had an excellent day and Matt can’t wait to be able to take me there to show me around the place… he even told me they kept off one of the routes so that when we all go it is new to all of us. What a sweetheart! LOL. We had some dinner and then we all got ready to go check out the night life in surfers. We met up with the Swiss girls and headed to the bar. We had some drinks and did some dancing although we couldn’t get Matt on the dance floor. A ... read more

Day 15 Today started of good, we relaxed for a bit, and then off to meet the Swiss girls to get our truck. We walked into surfers and met up with them, when we got there they told us that there was a bit of a problem, the first thing that crossed my mind was oh crap, what now. Lol. They took the car into the shop to make sure that we would be able to get it safetyied with no issues, but it turned out that it needed 600 dollars in repairs before that was possible! They felt so bad about telling us that it was in good condition and ready to go that they paid the bill! So then we took the truck to the shop to check it in, and headed to the ... read more

Day 13 The weather is a bit nicer today, but there are still showers on and off! I walked to blockbuster, took the movies back and rented New Moon, since I have wanted to see it since it was in theatres. Matt and Sean are off to Surfers Paradise to look at a few SUV’s they have found. So I stayed at the house and watched my movie and cleaned us for Kristin and Joel. The boys were gone pretty much all day which was nice for me because I got to have some time for myself. Although it wasn’t the most exciting day in our books. The boys got back just before dinner, which was good! They looked at 2 trucks, the first one was in good condition, runs really well, and bonus it comes ... read more

Day 11 Today was an excellent spent day, this morning we just relaxed, did some grocery shopping, made lunch and then off to sea world we went! Lots to see and do there, we walked through the shark tank, and Matt fell behind us, due to the fact that he stopped to read everything that was on the walls. Then we went to look at the polar bears, which there was only 1 and it was hard to see due to the fact that it was brown and was sleeping on the wood chips, it blended in. After that we ended up trying to see some seals but by the time we arrived there, they were all in the water and we missed our chance. Our next stop was the stingray pool, where you could pet ... read more

Day 9 Saturday we ended up going out for a nice walk after sleeping in till 8am… this is killing me. Lol. We went for a walk to Burleigh Head national park, about a 5km each way walk. And it was hot out to. But very enjoyable and the scenery was worth it. Lots of nice little shops for Jackie to stop and look in along with allowing Sean to find himself some new sunglasses. The point offered a chance for some nice views from about 50 feet above the ocean. I will allow the photos to do the talking on this one. Very worth the stop to look at. Day 10 Sunday we took it easy, went for a nice little swim in the morning, the rip was bad today, and it no longer says ... read more

Day 8 We ended up going to a few pawn shops today, Sean is on the hunt for a guitar. And actually ended up buying a new one since it was cheaper than anything we had found at a pawn shop. So with more luggage to haul around now were gonna have a packed truck. LOL. We lucked out and the night before were able to buy tickets to the footy game for 30 bucks for 2, so that was awesome. We bought 4 more tickets and headed out to the game with a few extras tagging along. What a great game. NRL, hard hits and constant action for the whole half. Way better than football back home. It was the Titans vs Dragons and we left when the Titans were losing 18-0 so we could ... read more
