Day 48 We are finally ready, we have all our gear packed and return our keys to the office but sneak back into the pool for one last dip.. so nice. And we are off, the stop for the night, irvinebank. The road starts off as a nice wide highway, then goes to a nice twisty road. I now regret not getting the power steering fixed. The speed limit is 80.. anymore than 50 and it is edgy in the corners. I guess we may be a bit top heavy. We make a few pit stops along the way, The cathedral Fig tree being stop #1, amazing to look at. I hope the edits turn out okay. Day 46 Monday is here!!! And hopefully our parts are in. start the day of easy, pack up our tents and load the truck up and away we go into cairns again. Pinks power steering is our first stop, drop off the seal kit, the balk at our idea to just keep the fluid topped up and run with manual steering, but hey, if you were running a company, you would push for us to get it fixed to. The to Williams auto electrical, return the starter, that was about a 45 minute wait. Poor old guy didn’t know how to use the debit machine. “damn computers” lol. Then we stop in at supercheap auto…. Day 43 Time to move camp and get parts, a rebuild kit for the steering box and a new starter. We start our day at the boulders, a stunning little campground with only 5 sites, we tries to stay here before to no avail but this time we are in. Woohoo, free showers. LOL. And a huge spider to boot, the biggest we have seen so far. We pull out the tools and start wrenching on the truck till dark then shut it down and have a few beers with our neighbours, an excellent night even with the wrenching. LOL. Good meal of chicken to. Day 41 - A sad day for sure, we head straight into Cairns for 8am to hit up some internet quickly and get directions then get our dvds of our jumps. And walk James and Sam to the bus for 9am. After them being here for a month it feels weird watching them go, very sad, almost like we live here full time and he was just visiting, even though we to are visitors.. They embark on a 30 hour bus ride and we walk back to the truck and head back to camp just to sit around for the rest of the day, pack a bit and do a complete clean of the truck… james forgot his rock, but I have it tucked away in the truck for safe keeping for now. ... read more

Day 39 The fun begins around noon today with us heading out to the barron river for some whitewater rafting levels 2-3 which was fun, but not the rush we were looking for. Although we did have a blast riding the river without the boat for a bit. And some of the smalled rapids through us around pretty good, I didn’t fall out which was a bonus.(waiting for pictures still) While we did that Jackie skipped ahead and we and jumped from a 50m tower or 164 feet whichever you prefer, pretty intense, she loved it and says we have to try it. She also went on the minjin swing, a swing that drops you form 45m up and you hit 120km/h y the bottom. All seemed like a super fun day till we started heading ... read more
