Trip Comments
The Food pictures from today look delicious. I am missing some of your personal comments in your blog this time. I can hear your voice through them. A very interesting note that Google maps is off. Do you put in comments (to Google) when the directions are off? Does it seem like the first week went quickly? Do you take all of your luggage to each place that you visit? Is the train easy to access in each town/city? How is your Spanish? I find it interesting the changes that you note from previous visits to this one. Besides the siesta time, is the overall pace of life more relaxed or has that changed from previous visits?

Old cow! Good thing I wasn’t drinking my coffee when I read that because I actually snorted! The view is gorgeous. This place gets my vote because I’d LOVE to visit you there.

La Rochelle Gets My Vote
You've sold me on this little town, so I hope you do get to spend part of your retirement there and I visit you during that time. I especially want the chocolate mousse. But I will pass on any fish tartare (served raw), thank you very much. I'm not a fan of fish. Period.

Thanks for the Laugh
I'm so glad nothing was hurt but your pride in the bike accident. And, yes, I was laughing as I pictured this. Didn't the gal whose life was saved by your swerve stop to help? If not, how rude! I'm also glad the bike shop had their priorities right. One in the states would probably have made you buy the bike. "You break it, you buy it!" Was the dish of the day the tempura cod? If you said, I missed it, but I do see the photo. It doesn't sound like you found the right neighborhood for retirement yet, so I hope the search tomorrow is more fruitful.

Relaxing
Looks and sounds like the perfect relaxing day. Loved your picnic supper idea, a favorite of mine! Definitely you need to plan for those days to completely relax while traveling for an extended time.

IF People Visit?
I will be visiting you in France. You don’t have to summit the tower again. You can wait for me below if you prefer, but I will be going to the top for sure. I’m sad there were no pictures, and I hope your camera decides to work for the rest of the trip. I wanted to hear about the chocolate mousse.

Retirement!
Very exciting to be close to retirement . . . and living in France for retirement! Almost there but a couple more years to go.

Missing Tarragon
This made me teary eyed! So glad he got to take that last trip with you and Jerry.

What a Bummer
I'm sad to hear that your stomach isn't cooperating on the trip. This has happened to Jeff several times in his travels, too, and he isn't nearly the culinary connoisseur that you are. I hope it gets better for the rest of the trip. I'm also sorry to hear that you couldn't see the two items on your itinerary for the day. But I am glad to learn I'm not the only one who wanders around, unable to find the place I want to go.

Good looking sandwich
That chicken sandwich sounded exceptional. I have always wondered about all of the walking that you do. I typically get about 13,000 steps in a work day, but when we visited you in NYC - I was beat on day 4. I am wondering about this next trip... I enjoy the architecture photos and landscapes of where you visit as well as the food journaling. Hoping Tarragon is settling in.
