We arrived in Nice on the 19th of July. We stayed in a small hotel on the 4th floor, right in town which was great. They were having a large petanque competition, for those who don't know petanque is similar to bowls except you have to throw metal balls at a jack. It takes quite a bit of skill! We had our first experience of pebble beaches, it takes a while to get used to but it beats having sand everywhere! Nice is absolutely beautiful and they have a large garden with a waterfall on a hill which overlooks the city! They light everything up at night so it was a bit of a suprise to see it.
