Love this Blog! I hope you don't mind, but I've become a follower. I especially like a visitor's viewpoint on my 'City by the Bay', as it's my adopted home (I live 40 miles north of San Fran).
Can't wait to read your next blog!
Buying books If you really want to buy books, post them home to yourself. Your mum did that. She also posted all the gallery guides etc. Thanks for the blog... always a good read!
Books Yeah, we've already sent home one book of a few things. We might have to send another home if we buy a few more things. The only problem is that books are heavy (and therefore expensive) and you can no longer send surface mail from USA (it used to be a great cheap option).
A couple or four? Haha. Great picture! I know exactly where this is, too. I used to show my paintings in the gallery you're standing in front of. Hope you enjoyed your time in Maine. Did you have any lobster?
Funnily enough we failed to try the lobster! We wanted to try the lobster rolls, but were surprised by how expensive they were (we can get pretty awesome lobster where we live at home).
how cute! did you find out why there were a family of Tortoises living in the garden ? Whilst gorgeous it seems rather odd to have so many of them as "pets"... Of course, I want a Tortoise now!! :)
Not really sure on the history of the tortoises - it was a really old house and in the family for a while. No idea when the tortoises first populated the garden. But stay tuned - we then stayed at another house with a tortoise!
Paris Thanks. Currently kinda stuck in Frankfurt though. Finding it hard to get to Paris (meant to be next stop) and even harder to get accommodation in Paris. Seems like it's a popular place - who'd have thunk it?
Hi Guys, I came across Clitoria terneata in Malaysia as it is used to colour the rice a vibrant blue! it looked so unatural! I have come across seed here too. Will have to give it a go!
We have been meaning to go on a decent trip for ages now. Last year some very cheap prices came up on bestflights, so we decided to take the plunge.
After this it became all about saving as much money as possible. Working a lot, and spending stuff all (apart from the occasional necessary bike part or gadget).
We are looking forwards to five months away, spending two weeks in Thailand, and the rest of the time split between Europe and North America. We haven't planned much - just hoping to see lots of great sites, and eat a pile of tasty food.
Oh, there'll probably be a lot of food photos... full info

It looks like an Equisetum sp. of some sort... (horsetail)
