12/10/09 got up far too early, showered and got dressed walked to a cake shop near sara´s school and bought a delicious looking choc cake for my nurse friends in Triaje walked over there and dropped it off, they were all pretty pleased!!! got a combi to the plaza and walked up to san blas. having left my lonely planet at the house i realised after a bit of asking around the museum i was looking for was not up in san blas but down in the plaza bum! walked back down and on the way passed a delicious smelling bakery....El Buen Pastor.....i bought a pear pie...it was fabulously tasty walked up to the Museo Inka it was really really interesting and i spent ages in there just mooching around loking at the artefacts there was ... read more

10/10/09 Well we didnt go to the market int he end because ninoska had to go to the doctors i stayed and researched a cool biking company that does downhill mountain biking trips around cusco...little bit expensive though i helped make spaghetti bolognaise for lunch then wolfed it down becuse i didnt have much time to get to the plaza de armas for our tour and i had laundry to do!! met sara on the cathedral steps and left my stuff with her while i ran up the hill to take my laundry! i had alot!!!! ran back down...nearly died....must be the altitude!! haha well we met our tour which started in the church to the left of the cathedral called the Iglesia de Jesús María it was a very beautiful church with lots of marble ... read more

8/10/09 4 weeks today!!! Fixed the shower curtain long enough for me to wash my hair Went and had a fried egg and rice for breakfast...im getting more peruvian by the day, i eat rice for all three meals a day!! Today Ninoska was taking me, olenka and marko to a saints festival in a far off village somewhere down south past Tipón and Piquillacta and Andahuaylas and Urcos. The car journey was quite long...almost 2h but the views were incredible!! Beautiful mountains and lakes and rivers. Also sad scenes of the counrtyside poverty. whole families out ploughing their fields. even the tinyest children!! 6/10/09 Woke up all lovely and snuggly and decided to walk to work today so i could leave a bit later and check my emails. All the tours for my trip after volunteering are booked!! Exciting!! Ill be travelling to Bolivia on my own then travelling from la paz to santiago with a tour, then i have a few days in santiago alone before heading off to buenos aires with another tour! after that think ill fly back to cusco and then maybe have a few days in Arequipa. FAB! Headed off to work sining along to josephs mis on my ipod, so much fun. made the 30min walk seem much shorter! 4/10/09 Well! Safe to say i woke up feeling like death and sooooo tired!! Didnt bother showering i was so tired! Sara came over, we grabbed some fruit and directions from Ninoska then headed to the plaza We both got money out then went to mcdonalds for breakfast and to break up our big notes We got a taxi to this place where you can get shared taxis to various local towns then we got a taxi...crampt...to Chinchero We walked through the narrow cobbled streets till we found the main street We blagged our way past the guards with out of date bolleta touristicos and walked on to the church we bought fingerpuppets and the girls told us mass was at 11.....it was half9!! soooo we wnet SHOPPING!! got some incredible bargains and by playing the ... read more
