23/10/9 Well i got up early today as it was olenkas birthday she loved the necklace that laura and i had bought her...or at least she pretended well!! Everyone then left to got to work or scho0ol or the market Ended up packing and repacking Then i spent a while organising my trips to puno and arequipa with Ninoska Sad that Mum and Hen and everyone have gone to Lanzarote and I havnt this year Jealous!! When Laura got home we had lunhc with the adults We had a big special lunch for Olenka´s birthday We had Mussels to start...risky i know!! Then a langustine soup which was delicious It also contained a weird orange smpongy rubbery thing Tried a bit and it was vile so i left it Turns out it was fish eggs!! YUCK!! ... read more

22/10/09 Had a super duper long lie in today went for breakfast and ninoskas ma made me a lovely omelette spent most of the mornign packing my things, more difficult than i expected...i have alot of things! Had a tasty but flipping humungous lunch!! Could barely eat half!! çafter lunch i met up with Sara at the plaza. I did my laundry and we went in search of a bag for my hand luggage. Eventually found a suitable one and i rather like it!! Then we got a combi to the m,olino together to buy a memory card for my camera and come other bits Got a really relly cheap 4gb one that works so well!!! perfection! then we got a combi back to san blas and we went to jacks for dinner and one last ... read more

21/10/09 Well we all had a lovely communal breakfast this morning to say goodbye Ate so much as it was so flipping scrummy!! I shared a taxi with Lou and Maddy as they were going to the airport and i live so close It was quite a teary goodbye Spent the morning just chilling Found out we have a new volunteer living in the house!!! Exciting! Also found out the puppy died!! shitter!! At lunch as Ninoska´s mum is down we had typical jungle food which was quite delicious I met Laura the new volunteer and she was really lovely Sara and I arranged to meet in the plaza outside mcdonals Laura came too Gigi, Laura, Sara and I all did a bit of shopping which was ncie and then went and had delicious smoothies!! 20/10/09 Well we all got woken up at 330 id had a really bad nights sleep, must have been excited! I got ready in the tent and supprisingly i was the first out and sat down to breakfast bread and jam we set of from the camp in the dark at 420ish to the checkpoint we arrived and were 3rd in the queue evryone was sat around snoozing waiting for the gate to open at 530 Ollie gave me a massage and i gave him one in return felt much less tense! when the gate opened and we finally got let through after the other groups our guide at the from Eduardo started to run, ollie and dan behind him did too so i did aswell we ended up leavng the group behind and us 4 ... read more

19/10/09 Woke up at 515ish got changed and packed up had a lovely hot choc brought to me :) luxuary!!! breakfast was delicious!! toast and a big fluffy pancake with G.A.P written on it in toffee Delicious! We refilled our water bottles then set off. I was really tired and not in the midset for walking and it was all uphill!!!! It was a really hot sunny day and the skies were really blue! Ollie was really sweet and gave me a bit of a motivational speech, cheered me up Think id eaten too much and walked too soon though coz i felt a bit sicky!! 18/10/09 We all got woken up at 530, totally exhausted. They brought us a cup of tea in bed!! So lovely! We washed packed up and then sat down to breakfast We had bread, then a maize porridge, then an omlette!!! YUM! We set off at around 7 and immediately we were powering uphill! Today we were going to climb to 4,215m at Warmiwanusca or Dead Womans Pass That meant a 1,200m climb!!! It was such a hard climb I really stuggled at first but after climbing half i woke up and really got stuck in Its easier not to keep stopping and resting but just to find a rythm and slowly keep going I was the thirt one up to the top from our group and the first girl. 17/10/09 Woke up and had a shower, last chance to wash my hair!! Packed and dressed and went down to breakfast, a lovely fluffy pancake and bread SO DAMN TIRED!!!! A lorry had blocked to road to Km82, the start of the inka trail we had to wait for it to be cleared. when it was we all hopped on the minibus and headed down lots of little roads to the start. we gave our stuff to the proters and they packed up then we went to the checkpoint to get our passports stamped and start the trail! It was pretty much all uphill! So breathless!!! The scenery was beautiful though, really really beautiful! We kept stopping at points to ctach our breath. 16/10/09 After a relatively good nights sleep i got up, showered and dressed. Packed up all my things and Marie and I went down to breakfast. It was soooooo tasty. I had a bread roll with ham and cheese, yoghurt, and fruit. After breakfast we all piled into a minibus and drove to the sacred valley. First we drove to a little community that did weaving, the children were adorable1!!! Then we drove to Pisac ruins. They are incredible and we walked for over an hour aroudn the site. it gives great views of the valley. After a nice walk we headed back down to the market at pisac. 15/10/09 Well I have officially been away for 5 weeks today! I had a wonderful lie in then packed up my things and left the house...after saying my goodbyes of course! I got a taxi to my hotel, it was a right posh one!!! I checked in and left my stuff in the room. i left a note for whoever i was going to be sharing with then headed off to the plaza. Found a little restaurant off the plaza called ´the crown´ and i had a full english with a delicious coffee sitting on a lovely sun filled balcony overlooking the square! 14/10/09 Went and got a taxi to the plaza early this morning I walked up to San Blas and went to the church. It is so very beautiful!! It has an incredile craved pulpit. Its unbeliveabley detailed! On the way back down from San Blas i stopped in Jacks for a superly delicious plate of fruit drizzled in natural yoghurt, honey and lime!! mmmmmmmmmmmm combined with the coffee milkshake i was in heaven! Stopped in an art shop to purchase some earings that i was in love with and got chatting to the owners son...well he started chatting to me! Apparently on saterday i can have 2 pairs free!!! shame ill be at machu picchu!! Back in the plaza i got money out and went to pick up my boots!!!!
