WOW! That is so cool Laura!
I hope you keep copies of everything you found! I've made a database for my mom to keep track of family stories, photos, obits, censuses, etc. Let me know if you'd like a copy to keep track of all the family info you found.

Home at last
You've gone around the world to find home. I loved each one of these pictures. You made the old folks happy that the youngsters care about their heritage. You and your cousin look deeply satisfied that you made the trip. You thought you knew your family before, but now you have an even better understanding. As the Aussies say, Good on you!

Hey Traveler
We finally got some commercial internet here in the desert so of course I had to check out your site. Portugal looks incredible! Just in case you were curious... that bread with the eggs in it is called jachnoon it's a traditional jewish sabbath dish and it's made a lot in the middle east and India. Hope this finds you well, in good spirits and with good friends! -Collin

charming!
i love the library boat! and especially the shot of those little slippers by the boat... i can just imagine the amazing experience you had with the children at the orphanage. there are so many things we take for granted in our city lives which these folks derive joy from .. and i guess that's what touched me the most about such travels. it's like you learn from the people you ventured to teach.

Beautiful elephants
Hi Laura, How even the nicest of Thai people can exploit these amazing animals is hard to digest. What a fabulous week-long experience! Wallowing with elephants is such a heartwarming experience, isn't it? They're giant beauties :).... Can't wait to see more photos of your trip! Jayne

WOW. I love the Thailand and elephant pics and stories
It was so fascinating. I would NOT have been able to bring myself to eat the bugs either!! But I wish I would...just so I could say I did! I can't wait to show my girls the elephant pics especially. What a wonderful way to volunteer. And 6 days without talking to anyone. I'll bet we don't know anyone else who has done that. I camped overnight by myself once, and I couldn't believe how long THAT seemed without talking to anyone! You've sure picked a good time to be gone. The rest of the world seems to be struggling to hold itself together. Keep on posting pictures. I'm living vicariously through you! They're wonderful!

Following your fantastic journey posting by posting
Hey Laura, This posting ranks up there as one of my faves! It looks like you're having such an unbelievable experience - will you ever be able to come back here and 'settle down' after this? Pretty life changing for you, I think? Cheers! Jayne

Bright LIght
You make a difference!. With every post that you make, you send a positive message to all of us that you can make life changes, you can make a difference, you can see the world in a new way, and you can live life to the fullest. You are a Bright Light of inspiration. I am so proud to call you friend. I am humbled by what you have accomplished this last year. I sure that there have been many challenging times in your journey, but all and all you seem to have triumphed very well. You seem at peace in your soul. Well done dear friend. Ruthanne

Heartwarming!
What a wonderful story--about the school, the children, and you working with them. And how cool is it that a woman taught them karate! Glad to hear that your eye injury just left a little scar; it looked gnarly! (It's funny, I did one of those fb quizzes with Sammi and Sasha the other day, and one of the questions was, "What is something your mommy always says?" And independently, they both said, "What where you're going!" ;-) ) I think you should write a book about all this!

What an amazing experience!!
Hey Laura, How long are you staying in Laos? Looks like you're quite at home with all the kids. Not sure who's having the most fun - you or the kids?! This is, by far, my favorite posting of yours so far. It sounds like you're having such an amazing life experience - all I can say is WOW :) Jayne

Turquoise Waters or Snow Pellets?
I look ahead & see Laura's tranquil pictures of turqoise waters. When I turn my head, I see snow pellets pounding our neighborhood. I think I'll take another look at those pictures!

WOW
I just added that to my 'must see in real life' places. It looks absolutely serene.
