The beauty of the Lake District Good little blog. You've got some great photos of Cumbria and I remember on our first visit to the Lakes, we were constantly parking up to get more photos. So this made me smile when read it through. Can't wait to get back and looks like you had a great time whilst you was there. Really does make you love England and all that is in it for sure. A special place to visit.
Yeah for you and your search!! What a beautiful spot! Happy you have had a good time and that you are feeling like you might have found “the” place. Your pictures are fantastic and of course the food looks delish. Safe journey back to the US. We are flying to CT on the 20th-27th for Thanksgiving with daughter Laura and Family. I will wave
In your direction . Can’t wait to see you in December! Hugs and Love, Kier
Thanks, Kier and Diane! You are such attentive and encouraging readers! For some reason I didn’t get notifications of your last few comments until today (Nov 16), so I’m sorry that they didn’t post until now. I really appreciate your taking the time to read and comment - always glad to know I’m not just dancing alone in the dark over here... ?
You are Amazing Loved the truth in your real story today. Travel isn’t always easy and you shared the whole story. You have done such an amazing of navigating through a new country, sightseeing, finding housing, meals etc. You are phenomenal lady and I admire you and miss you too! Take Care my friend
Almost missed this blog post. Love it that you went to Liverpool. John Lennon's broken glasses are really disturbing but I'm glad you included them. They must be having to change that number of deaths since he was shot, daily...
OMG! LOLOLOL! Travel journalism is in your future. If you're looking for a job that is. Confirmed my vow to only go away from home for two weeks maximum. Unless it's a 2-month cruise... With the same room and no suitcases. There is still a million enough decisions to be made. But give me a tour guide and a half day on my own and I'm happy. I had to laugh at your interactive Sun remark. I never knew that about fall skies in Britain. But I'm sure you don't regret a bit of this adventure. You have seen some amazing things judging by your photos so I imagine the experience is at least twice as wonderful. I'd get a detective to find out who ate your food and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law! Haha! But wine and cheese ain't bad. Enjoy your last few weeks, perhaps in a more stationary way. Do they have Lyft or Uber where you are headed? Keep On Truckin girlfriend!
Well... you'll save on shampoo and styling gels. So does your hair stylist still live? No my dear, it's not that bad. It's not your regular feminine look but you look good in short hair and shorter hair. Love these photos. The weather looks a little bit more wintry so I suppose now you'll have a better sense of whether or not you would like living there year-round. Next week I'm off to the parliament of world religions in Toronto. Looking forward to that. Theme is spirituality and politics. We're doing some rain and cooler temps now. I cleaned my back deck furniture and brought it in for the winter as well as the outdoor rugs which are now drying in the garage before I roll them up. Also refresh the hot tub and after all that activity, my sciatic is having a field day. It should be better tomorrow. Keep enjoying your Wonderland and thanks again for sharing all the beautiful pictures and stories.
Thanks for the consolation, Diane You know how to put a positive spin on things.... ? The cut is actually way worse than the pix indicate, but I couldn’t get the right angle to show. Thank heavens it will grow out, but it may be 2019 before normal....
Sorry you overdid and aggravated your sciatica! Hopefully you’ll get some rest/restoration at the Parliament. While you’re at it, save the world, please! It’s getting really bad, everywhere....
Hugs and love!
Is everything like a fairytale out there? Are there any ugly, trashy places? It's just all way too idyllic! Your Oceanfront place was amazing! It reminds me of where I stayed in the Algarve in Portugal. I could have lived there for the rest of my life and never moved from the balcony. So good luck on your travels. Sounds like a complicated and long journey to Ireland. May it go smoothly.
Thanks, Diane So far. so good! Smooth connections and ferry crossing, and I even made a delightful new friend, Eileen, who is 91 and full of beans! We hugged goodbye like family...?
I’m on the final leg now (evening train from Dublin to Galway) - made an earlier train than anticipated!
Yes, there is always an underbelly, but I’m staying focused on the positives, and how lucky I am to be seeing them!
Wow...beautiful countryside photos! You have had such wonderful weather to capture the sites! Love the coastal pics with flowers and cloud formations for accents! Well done my friend. I’m enjoying your journey to “see” areas I didn’t know of before! Thanks for the education and armchair travel ?.
Thanks, Kier! You are always so appreciative and encouraging! It’s comments like yours that bring me sunshine, no matter my weather, and keep me going... ?
OMG. U R Amazing !! You my friend have taken “adventure” to another level! I’m sorry for your stress with your Mini Cooper! I hope this will all just be a good story down the road ?. Your tale has been quite well written and very entertaining!!! Take care my friend ?
Oh. My. God. Forgive me but I had to laugh. I did feel guilty. I'm still reeling at the fact that you are driving all over Great Britain on the left hand side of the road. Now you got a newfangled car with crazy s*** on it! I sure hope you can mellow out with it soon enough. I'm really looking forward to the pictures of this jaw dropping Countryside. I've seen it in my dreams. Be safe girlfriend!
Learning new tricks! What fresh hell is a car whose engine stops when the car comes to a complete stop?! How many glasses of wine did you need to get over that experience? Did the car rental place have any camels? Might have been a better choice :)
Onward!
Beautiful Winchester I was lucky enough to spend 3 days in Winchester in 2013 while traveling with my Dad. We were enchanted by the city! Dad loved mussels and I wish we had found the restaurant you went to where you enjoyed them so much. Miss you back here in Charbonneau where the Fall colors are beautiful - even those lying on the ground. Safe travels, Candy
Hey, Candy! Good to hear from you! Yes, Winchester is charming, packing a lot in for its size. I’d passed through one day 40+ years ago, and wanted to see more this time. Just stumbled upon Loch Fyne seafood and boy, howdy was I impressed!
Hugs all around!
Lovely Day in Winchester Glad your travel day went so well, Dispite a sleepless night! Your new town is beautiful and your sunset/rainbow were stunning gifts. You are excelling in your travel adventures and finding amazing places to rest your head. Love reading your blog...nice job!
Thanks! Thanks, Kier and Tuffy, for your kind encouragement.
I’m having a great adventure and just hoping my funds match my travel plans... ? Doing things on a shoestring is challenging, but also so rewarding!
