This morning we decided to get up and out early, spoke to mother on Skype for about 35mins. We then decided to sort a few things out like accommodation etc...This ended up taking a while and spent lots of time. After that we walked up to the town and brought some bits for the flight. Before we knew it, it was like 5 pm; we arrived back to the Drift In and packed some stuff. When we came back out we saw a group of people that had just arrived which we had met on the islands. Everyone sat round and we got through about 6beers between bout 8 of us, you have like a large shot of beer and as soon as anyone says take take (pronounced ta-kay) it goes round again and everyone has ... read more

Today woke up at like 10am; the mornings are getting later, uh oh... Went up to the Nadi Bay Hotel today as used their decent internet to update the whole blog but it costs so didn’t manage to put many photos on there as you can probably see. Today was just another day waiting for the flight to Auckland. We stayed by the pool and I spent the day with a couple of guys and Charmaine a couple of girls. I had a nice sandwich up there. It was a club sandwich, chicken breast, lettuce, tomato and fried egg on 2 layers; with chips and salad too. Chilled by the pool for a few hours then came back to play cards, how glad am I that brought them along with me, the lads reminded me how ... read more

Today woke up after the little kava session feeling.....fine infact. Woke up to breakfast... egg and beans and kinda toast...beans were old but egg and bready/toast tasted not too bad actually. But I left the beans...nothing worse really. Today we decided to jump on a local bus to Lautoka which is about an hour’s drive north of Nadi (pronounced nan-di). We got there and was shocked! It's like India. Where in the early 1900’s Indian people were shipped in for the “man-power” they seem to have made a serious presence, the Fijians call them Indo-Fijian as they are not true Fijians, even if they are born in Fiji they are not called true Fijians. The people seemed just as friendly though, many people asked how we were and where we are from, even though I got ... read more

Up about 8.30 this morning, we are getting back into a later waking up routine after 3 weeks... Haha. Charmaine was feeling much better today and so we decided that we were going to Bounty Island today. The celebrity love island place, you know with Paul Danan and Lee Sharpe and Callum Best. Have to pay extra, not sure how much yet. Check out was before 10 so had some quick breakfast, paid up our tab and was relaxing playing cards together before 11 which was what time the boat was coming. When we arrived we loved it, all the water sports, table tennis, free snorkelling, free kayaking, and free catamaran. COOL! Also they did wakeboarding, water skiing, banana boat and did lots of trips to other islands, see some endangered sea turtles trip, snorkelling trip, ... read more

Woke up at 7.30 this morning by a poorly Charmaine, oh dear it can’t still be sea sickness can it? She was being ill all morning and she didn’t think she could get on the boat so I booked us our own room with a bathroom as it would be better for her. Once we moved our stuff I think it became a lot clearer to me that I thought she might have had food poisoning?...Possibly. Least I think it is as I have had it before and it’s what it seemed like to me. As the day went on she seemed to be getting better. We watched a few films in bed; it seemed to take her mind off of it. About 2pm we then went outside for some fresh air as the fanned room ... read more

23rd oct Well...bit annoyed this morning, bad sleep again. Woke up at 2.30 again, damn, pitch black. Then at 4 am as something very heavy went on our netting and touched my hand; our bed has a single bed mosquito netting on a double bed so it’s not really big enough, so it pulled the corners up, this thing was so heavy my head was on the corner and it lifted me up kinda... I think it may have been a rat but I really don’t know, was bit weary so that kept me awake. Oh another thing, Florian was in the same room as us last night, only turns out he whispers in French in his bloody sleep, we thought someone was in there taking our stuff as we couldn’t understand what he was saying. ... read more

This morning we went down for breakfast, which actually wasn’t too bad, cereal or bread, pineapple and some sort of cheap asda cake, with a type of jelly custard on top; strange but ok. Still not decided where we were going, we were debating of going back to white sandy beach resort where we have been before with our French bud Florian. Waiting around from 9am til 10.15 seemed like a lifetime. Just literally lying in the hammock waiting to leave this place and proceed back north. We had decided that we were going to go back to white sandy as we know the food there was up to scratch. It will be another day of not doing much but then we planned to go back to beachcomber tomorrow which is a Friday and its supposed ... read more

My god we have the noisiest next door neighbour. I woke up at 2.30 am and couldn’t get back to sleep, he went to the toilet about 4 times, banging everything, and coughing; snoring came from both the left and the right side of us too. I was not impressed, and not even that, we have no fan here and breakfast is from 7am till 8am. Great. Still at Wayalailai Eco Haven - As we thought the meal last night was not the best we decided to skip breakfast although we were really hungry so i soon went down for some crisps. Today the whole Fiji time started to get the better of me, there is only so much lying about in hammocks that you can do. Don’t get me wrong its nice to just chill ... read more

Today we had to be up early as the boat was leaving at 9am, we decided last night that we were going to head north on the islands, didn’t know where or for how long but was going to just jump on the boat and decide then. We got on about 9.20 and decided quickly that we were going to go to Kuata Resort, opposite the Wayalailai eco haven which we had planned the next night. Plans quickly changed and we ended up in eco haven for tonight. First impressions....amazing. Not as modern or plush as octopus but very spacious and we were missing that thing that you stand on...oh yeah grass...it has plenty too. The sand begins to irritate you after a while, using about 3 times the energy to walk through it. This resort ... read more

This morning once again up early, it seems she always wakes up at 6.50...strange. Anyway proceeded downstairs for breakfast, omelette or toast, fish splodge, pancakes...basically loads of things.yumm...except the fish splodge. They make you eggs too. I had a few pancakes, 2 eggs, fruit, some toast and orange juice,. Today was a sun day, even after drinking the night before. We took a little walk around a part of the island and got bored so decided to go back and go for a swim of which i have some photos of Charmaine in the clear blue sea. The photos are seriously mounting up too. We were lying in the sun for an hour or 2, Charmaine got burnt let’s put it that way.....oh and also we did a free snorkelling trip about 5mins out on the ... read more
