Baldwin Travel Adventures' Guestbook

I love your blogs and pictures!
Hey kiddos! It's so great to read about your great adventures! It cracks me up, how things I saw in your personalities years ago are evident in your blog posts today. I'm happy that you guys are all having such an exciting, scenic adventure as a family. Thanks for posting the pictures! And Maggie, you are growing into such a beautiful young lady! It makes me want to cry, seeing you so close "the teenager zone"! haha (It might also make me feel a little old.) Billy, thanks for talking about the animals. I especially like that cute little ground squirrel! My baby girl and I had fun spotting ground squirrels outside in Michigan a couple of weeks ago. Tommy, I understand the "mind is a blank thing". That's why I'm about to go to bed! haha Sean, I'm glad you had so much fun swimming! I bet you're having lots of fun exploring the country in the RV now. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again sometime, and introducing you to my husband and "miniature girl". :) Love, Deborah

Loving It!
Kathleen and I have been following every movement. It's one of our favorite things of the day to see how the Baldwin Family Adventure is going. Keep up the good work!

I feel I'm on the trip with you.
Marcia, Todd, Maggie, Sean, Billy, Tommy, I can't tell you how much I enjoy coming into work every morning and looking at your blog. The writing is excellent, the pictures are great, and the family experience is priceless. Back here in St. Louis we are all following you across the country and for some reason, I feel my sister's presence. Keep the writing/pictures coming...................

The Legend
The Road Warrior lowers himself onto his throne and prepares his chariot for travel. Mirrored sunglasses cover his eyes of wisdom, and leathered gloves hold the hands which will guide this journey. The road awaits. He slowly turns and gazes upon his precious cargo, still awash in dreams. With one small turn of his wrist, the horses ignite below. He knows his mission well. All must be safe. All must be guarded. His foot presses against the pedal, the journey begins. Miles and miles and miles and miles pass before his eyes. He tires, but knows he cannot sleep, for his destination must be met. There... in the distance.....he sees his final stop. His inner drive, his passion for the road, all reflected in the lines of his face. He knows this role well.....he knows that only he can make this path yield to his command. Journey complete, he watches the faces smile at his brilliance....then he throws off his glasses, grabs his guitar, stuffs a hot food item covered in chocolate into his mouth and sings Kumbaya!!!! Oh you Road Warrior, you.

Short but Sweet
To fly down the mountain as fast as you can In only pajamas makes me such a fan It sounds like it was such a fantastic ride I know this is short, but please let it slide.

Luck Be A Lady Tonight
Well, it sure sounds like Sean hit the jackpot with Lady as his guide for your horse riding adventure. That "one speed only" gear is pure relaxation. Tommy's Tinker sure rings a bell and Billy's Stanger looks like a horse of many colors. Maggie's Quincy seems to have a kick in her step and Suger's ride must have been so sweet. But seriously, BIG POWER??? Did Todd raise a sword and yell "charge" as he headed down the trail. "Watt" was he thinking??. To bad about the RV acting up. Looks like you could use some additional horsepower of your own, but with a little bit of Luck...I'm sure you'll be on track soon.

Love those pictures, those horses, and your adventures! Can't believe nobody had a twinge of pain after trotting for 2 hours! Just reading about it tweaked these old bones. Centuries ago, I taught the West with "O Give me a home, where the buffalo roam, where the deer and the antelope play!" Anybody ever heard of it?? Don't answer that! I'm sure the horse loved your singing, Sean! And Kids, if the RV quits, you know where to get those horses! Just feed them apples, and they'll bring you right on home when you're ready! I've heard that sleeping on a blanket under the stars beside your horse, ( who is guarding for snakes,) is the best! Call me! I'll send apples! You all look so happy, excited, and loving! Your book will be a best seller, Marcia. Todd, stay wise! All of you, take care! Love, love!

May we suggest a new vocation?
Marcia: you seriously should consider writing for a living. Your blog entries are absolutely wonderful -- as good as any similar "professional" writing around. So vivid yet nuanced and emotive. We feel so connected to you all and are delighted that the trip will be so memorable. And we miss and love you all.

Happy belated birthday, Maggie!
We'll have to celebrate when you get back. You are almost a kidult!

Enjoy the wide open spaces. It will be more crowded at Yellowstone.
You guys are having way too much fun! Beautiful pictures!

Everyone loves a parade!
Thanks for the great pics of the mountains and the parade of bison! The GT Marching Bison's Band is tremendous. To be able to create such beautiful rhythmic patterns with their hoves as well as those formation changes is always a challenge with such young members. You saw something really special. I heard they are sending an audition tape to Macy's to try and get in their parade later this year. Just one other observation, I can completely understand your reaction when you first arrived on the scene Marcia. Todd always seems to make mountains out of mole hills sometimes, though they must be really HUGE moles building those things. Yea, don't worry about the bears, I'd be more scared of those moles!!!

Happy Trails!
I am having so much fun reading your daily blog! Thanks for taking me along!! Your family picture in front of Artist Point is the best!! Stay safe!

Height-phobia!
To sit here and imagine you all peering over a canyon edge, regardless of the spectacular view, sends shivers to my spine and goose bumps to my heart! Please, Obama, raise my taxes and build a fence! To think that Todd's "lack of fear" genes, which have haunted my life, should be so shared by a family, is unthinkable! Oh, Billy, thanks for finding those deer! You're talking MY language! Please, all of you, be careful! Falling hurts! Your descriptions are fantastic, Marcia, and the "wonder of our world" shines through! However, I like the "grizzly smiles and antlers" best! Keep trekking! Love, love!

The Wildness of Life
Wow, that sounds like a wild adventure of deers and dropoffs for you all. And how scary to think you were right on top of a volcano. That's why they sell those pocket seismographs in the gift shop. Sean should pick one up next time. The best part is when Billy spots the family of deer out for their hike. That's where this travel blog thing becomes so interesting, as I then went to Mrs. Jane Doe's travel blog and read about her comments meeting you guys. She said what a nice family you all were, but that Todd looks like he's put on a few pounds from all that Kansas City Royals ballpark food. Keep on hiking and hitting those keys to let us stay on the journey with you. Thanks.

A Horse, Ofcourse!
There is nothing more fun than a horse - a real "live" one, as Maggie told me. (Somehow, I hadn't thought of the head on a stick, Maggie!) I really hate to correct the "first time" thing though. I remember a Sunday when we all went to Maryland to the farm for "free rides" a couple of years ago. I have some great pictures of that day when everybody mounted. We had to drag Maggie and Billy away, but Sean and Tommy also rode around. Father knows I've looked for "cheap" Virginia riding for years. Soooo glad you had such fun. Nothing like it, but did you go on the trail, Marcia? I've missed the blog for two days because I didn't know about the "refresh" button! Kirk just told me. Was very busy with Sarah, but am back to normal now. So good to hear from you! Love, love!

Re Me Do Do So
Strange location.??..is Billy building large mounds out of sand...or does Sean keep drawing pictures of the same thing? Is Maggie seeing hovering lights in the sky....or is Tommy constantly talking? If so....don't go near that place again....or ask Richard Dreyfus for his autograph. No matter what...keep on having those adventures.

Mileage
Marcia and Todd, One or two bits of information that it might be fun to include in your blog is the mileage covered each day and the planned itinerary for the next day or so. Love, Dad

No horse play near the Presidents!
Great pictures. It looks like your having a wonderful time. And that ride on the safari- it's amazing what they can do today with animatronics. Say hello to Walt for us!

Happy Birthday Maggie
Maggie, Congratulations and Happy Birthday. Judy and I hope your celebration on the road is as good as you would like it to be. Certainly it will be memorable. And the fact that you began your celebration weeks ago with your slumber party makes it all the better. Love Grandpa and Judy

Breaker 19-Breaker 19 -Happy Birthday Maggie!
Happy Birthday Maggie! Now that your Mom and Dad are seasoned truck drivers, have them pull on that big horn and let the world know about our favorite niece turning 12 today. Handling that big rig can be a chore, but tell them to keep the wheels on the ground and watch those rear view mirrors. 10-4 good buddies!!!

Happy Vacation!
I'm loving my own personal tour of America while I sit at my computer! It looks like such a great time for your family and a trip they will never forget. Thanks for letting me ride along. Stay safe and continue the fun. I'm wondering if you and Todd will find a nice, old couple at one of your campsites to watch the kids while you guys go off for some adult fun!! : ) I'll be waiting for that entry!!

Question?
Now, just who was Amber waving to? The Royals? From England? Please talk that with a grain of salt. Looks like fun. Love the shades.
