A reminder of the truth Hi Janine,
If you stop being arrogent, you will understand that truth is not absolute or that "only" you say or percept. Everything is
relative to your idea of that thing. You say India is a tremendously poverty ridden country because you have your own set
definition of well beingness. But your definition of well beingness is "not" the truth as you are claiming. It is just
relative truth of your set ideas, which are based on very little experience about the subject matter of India and travel
within India. This is one (yours too) of the ideas that people are happy if they have money and a certain life style. BUT
there are other ideas about happiness as well. Denying their idea, is as good as somebidy denying your idea. People in India
are happier compared to their western counterpart. Attributing their happiness to their ignorance is basically your ignorance
and a sort of superiority complex without a basis. There is no more ignorant people in the world than they are in the west. Also, see a simple logic that India is accomoding almost 1/6 the of humanity that is ~4 times
of the U.S. within an area, that is 1/7 of that of U.S. I think it triggers you something in your thought process.
You despise poverty of India as much I as I despise hollowness in western culture. In west, people are so engrosssed in
themselve that they have no real sense of the world. I am also surprised that even though you received lot of heat for your comments, I dont see any of them in the blog. Have you deleted them? Please dont do that and let them be there for all to read as people read your blog. I am hoping you approve my comment.
wish you all the best and relative pleasent stay.
Good blog I admire you and fully accept the fact that India is really a HARD country to live in. Things might be changing here but still it has a long long way to go. I admire you because you have shown a great deal of understanding, adjustment and also sacrifices in some sense to be here with your hubby, these qualities (I have heard that) are slowly going off the west. I wish you to be happy while leaving and take a few good moments back home apart from so many bad ones :-).

well , jennifer i totally agree with you regarding the staring problem of the indians , being a indian i totally know how it feels like when probably when your mum is one of them , being a tennager believe its totally embarrassing . but then nnothing can be done about it , so sorry is the only word which comes across my mind , if it makes you feel better living in delhi for about 10 years i probably know the city well so if you need any help jusst post a blog i will certainly try to help you out .
Indian chicken Well, I know the scenes you might have encountered in the meat market. But if you are a person who really likes India try eating te Indian chicken. And if possible, go for "country" chicken. "Country" chicken means one which is not fed with any of the artificial stuffs the way they do in US. Its very delicious and tasty unlike the chicken in US
At Last..... Hi guys- Love the furniture, and all the pic's. Keep em' comin'. Dan - Interesting information and perspective on the size of everything in America to India. To bad we won't get buy-in from Americans. Maybe you could start a trend when you get back here?!?
woo hoo! Things look to be coming right along. How nice to see some pics.
I cannot wait to get there and to experience your life and your India with you. Love, Chris
yikes! Now that story takes this whole adventure to a serious new level. Maybe that whole FDA inspection thing is totally overrated! Hang in there! Mom G.
Fantastic! Dan..you know I like the unshaven, sort of scruffy look myself, but I think this was an awesome experience but encourage you to keep your shaving services confined to the inside of a building.....just somehow seems safer and far more sanitary. Cio, brave man.
Vegetables are GOOD for you! Well, I read with great enjoyment this tale of the meat market. It reminded me of the markets in Europe that dad and I wandered many years ago. (He was interested, and curious...I was disgusted and ate alot of pasta from that day forward) YOu are right about gheeta....she will clean and prepare the food and it will be delicious.....maybe you will actually get used to that adventure, or..maybe not, and then you can experience all the fresh produce that India has to offer. Carry on. Love, mom
a shave?? What the crap is with the shaving people? EWW.... I really hope they were diposabale razor blades to! Other wise...
oh don't evan get me started on that. JUST EW.
Yeah what nana said YOU now even disgusted me out!! Ok yeah i would totally go to be a vegetarian.... really i would never eat meat again!!! I feel like I am going to puke up raw meat. EWWW. Well I really hope you like.
XOXOXOXO-

okay - now even I am disgusted. Jenn - Definately go vegetarian, or learn to love well done meat.
I love this blog. I am so excited about sharing this experience with you and Dan. You are in my thoughts everyday. Hang in there, soon your home will be ready and you can settle in. Sending hugs and............I think you need a spa day! Love you
A shave under a tree/the meat market.......scarey! Hi Dan - You and Jenn are really getting into it now. I have had a few good chuckles this AM. Just tell they use disposable razor blades...please!
Great to Read your Blog Jennifer, your last entry really put me right back there and brought so many good (and frustrating), but mostly good memories. It will be so nice to live in Golf Links - what a nice neighborhood. It was all the little things there that amazed me too and I love reliving my experience through you. Keep sharing these bits and best of luck.
birthdays.... Yesterday is the past...tomorrow is the future.....today is the present....a gift we give ourselves...Happy Birthday sweet girl. Love, mom
