Sameer
the Boy who lived
Sameer
Sameer from India here...its been very very very wonderful to read about the travels of so many wonderful people. I cant compare myself with most of the people here because unfortunately I have travelled very less...You guys have no idea how restless it makes me when I read about your travels...hehe...but the desire grows everyday...the fire has been burning for years and am not sure how many more it will take for me to take a flight. The more it gets defered, the more intense will the fire burn. I guess my wings are still in the process of growing. The wait is going to be painful, but one day I will fly.....just like Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
The far away land beckons me; I feel it in my soul,
The traveller in me wants to discover, to explore
No burden on my shoulder, nothing to hold me back
To leave my footprints on the untried track
To travel to the ends of the earth, and fly
To go where the beautiful land meets the sky
Looking at the world through God’s eyes
Drunk in its beauty, uncovering secrets that lie
Every road I tread upon, every dusty lane
The old man by the road singing his own song
In his eyes there are many stories, hidden
And I wish to know every single one of them
On a rickety bus, bullock cart or a crowded train,
I wish to journey through this world, untamed
Meet people who are the essence of the land
Their lives, I yearn to understand
Share in their stories and their achievements
Break bread with them and learn their ways
I dream to be the vagabond traveller
To travel, with a song on my lips, forever
To sails the vast oceans and across the seas
To unearth life’s wonderful mysteries
To put into words everything I feel and see
Will be the tribute, to Mother Nature from me
