Delicious Evening Meal

True grit
I'm impressed that you pressed on through the rain and met your goal. However I felt your pain when reading about the vertical climb with your backpack while being lashed by rain! The dinner at the Kiri-no-Sato Takahara Lodge looks fabulous. Bet it tasted all the better after the day you'd had :)

Delicious Evening Meal

True grit
Thank you! =) It was a rough start of this part of the journey, but I was glad that I did it. I feel it would have been a worse start if I had skipped it. Aye, that dinner was very welcome and delicious at that point. =D

Manihōtō (Treasury Pagoda)

Treasury Pagoda
I really liked it as well. It was nice to go inside for once, a lot of pagodas that I come upon are closed to visits but this one was not only open but also very welcoming. =)

Beautiful
Wow, what a beautiful place! It seems you had a really special time on your first day at Mount Koya. The temple stay looks so peaceful and calming, and I'm sure indeed the evening walk in the cemetery was just beautiful! You really know your Japanese history my friend ?

Mausoleums of Yūki Hideyasu and Lady Oman

On my to-do list
This place just went up on my places-I-have-to-visit-some-day-list. It looks really cool. There are several similar places in China too. It is a wonderful experience to visit those. I know that from my own expereince. /Ake

Small Offering in a Cedar Tree

Eternal Meditation
Your grasp of the telling of history is a gift Per Olof that you certainly excel in. Fascinating. Your pilgrimage for enlightenment, if I can call it that, is also inspiring as an insight into your character. I hope these words are acceptable in my brevity in seeking to express them.

Well Done!
Wow! Well done indeed my friend! What an epic journey and achievement for you! You scaled Mt Fuji overnight, after climbing Mt Hoei the day before. And you were then able to find energy to travel to Osaka and enjoy an evening out there! I'm sure there are not many who'd be able to do all of that. We'll done indeed!

Bullet Climb
I, too, did a bullet climb back in 2010. Unfortunately, I wasn’t rewarded with a good sunrise as there were too many clouds; I hope you had better luck. I’m impressed you bagged two peaks in one go.
