One of the sights on The Strip are the dancing fountains outside The Bellagios. They go off every 15 minutes with different music played each time. A definite must see. After spending some time watching these, I went up to the Bar in the Paris Hotel (literally a copy of the Eiffle Tower) and had a cocktail up there and watched the fountains again - this time in the warmth.... read more

By the 3rd day in Vegas, I was beginning to feel a bit ill with this cold I'd caught, and having been out very early morning each day and walking miles, I hadn't been out once at night - which essentially meant I hadn't seen any of the lights of Vegas - a major attraction afterall. So on the 4th night I forced myself to get out and about and walked from the top of the Strip, so I could photograph the Excalibur (looks like a castle and is pretty gawdy by day, but absolutely brilliant at night when all lit up), all the way down to Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Casino - and I photographed absolutely everything and got some great shots.... read more

The Cosmopolitan is the newest Hotel and absolutely spectacular. They have loads of 6 metre strands of Stavroski crystals hanging down like curtains - absolutely beautiful and sparkled every which way (these photos don't do justice). They had 2 bars behind them and I must say, this was one of the most impressive places I'd seen.... read more

There are some Hotels which you absolutely have to go inside and see, they are that spectacular. Top of my list is definitely The Venetian. Really loved the Venetian - they have a false sky in there with a river and gondolas you can ride, Italian bridges and facades of buildings inside. Very picturesque, very Italian and truly lovely. Enjoy. ... read more

Close to my Hotel, The Sahara, was the Stratosphere Tower, so I went up there to firstly ride on the rides right on top of the Stratosphere Tower - one goes up from the roof really fast - so fast you leave your stomach behind, and 2 other rides fling you over the edge of the Tower, one of which then tips you downwards. Didn't think either of them was as thrilling as the roller coaster I went on in the New York Casino in Las Vegas. Secondly, they also have a revolving restaurant with surprisingly good food, and of course good views.... read more

For the next 4 days I have never walked so much in my entire life. The Strip is miles long and the Casinos are 3 large blocks long and massive - you literally walk miles in them. I walked the Strip photographing all the interesting things to see during the day. Unfortunately, I caught a stinking cold on the flight over with the freezing weather not helping much either - nor walking the Strip before dawn come to that. But you know what its like when you're wide awake and in a brand new place you haven't seen before - you can't wait to get out and explore. I have always wanted to go on a Rollercoaster with a loop in it, so I finally got to do that on the Rollercoaster that's on top of ... read more

The following morning, they chucked us off the ship really early, 8.30 am, so having prebooked a Shuttle, I was off to the Airport with 5 hours to waste before flying to Las Vegas. Thankfully I'd bought a sweatshirt top in Nassau by then, because it was back to freezing weather again. Enjoyed flying in the evening to Vegas as it was overland and unlike Australia, where you just see pitch blackness all the way across the country for 4 solid hours (so boring), in the States there's circles of lights everywhere and occasionally lights stretching for miles when you fly over a really big city. Consequently, it was an interesting 6 hour flight. Once again, 4 more hours were added to my day, so I was in bed by 9.30 p.m. (although it was 1.30 ... read more

They also had a pirate night one night where I must say, the men really went to town dressing the part, and a "white" night, where everyone wore white. Was quite interesting to walk into a bar and every single person was is in white. Sort of stops you in your tracks and almost looks heavenly. The last night on board was really excellent - everyone dressed up, dinner suits the lot, with lots of hugs and Goodbyes and swapping emails. ... read more
