Guess who's been throwing up like a mad donkey?! Hell yes - it's awesome...not really!!

Wow - haven't felt this rotten in ages...and...what i don't get is that Sime in his drunken state will munch liver and heart - dude pulls up on the side of the road and cooks it off the back of his bicycle - and the mutt is hundreds!! Just not fair i say!

Anyhoot - feel a little bad as it's Slimey's birthday today - we were supposed to be on a 3 day trek through rainforests and jungles and riding ele's (Big Stans for those of you who know the big lad) but alas, i had to go and have a small die!! Hopefully on the mend - hit me hard on Wednesday night but still not managing to keep much down - I'll be back on my game in no time though😊

Okey doke - so we are now in the lovely Chiang Mai - really really pretty - super laid back with many a mountain creeping over us! We caught the overnight train from Bangkok on sunday eve! I was super excited of course - proper bunkbeds and everything. I of course secured the top bunk which turned out to be a foolish manouvre - it was FREEZING!! There's me always b*tching about the heat so we opted for the air con train - only the vent was centimetres from my noggin - ended up trying to thrust Gary's face up the vent in the hope of getting some z's!! That didn't work so i crept downstairs to where Slime was napping peacefully - I wanted to get into our bag so i could put on some longs and grab my towel to act as a bonus blankie - but that meant getting the key out of Slime's camera bag. Needless to say the bag was right by his giant heed - yet the beast didn't even flinch when i lunged over and grabbed it (good to know he wakes up when folk are scaling our stuff!!) Oh well - it was all good fun in the end! So yip - we arrived here in Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand) on Monday morn and checked into our guesthouse - SK House. Wow - it really is lovely. Not sure how it falls under the 'budget' category in the good ol Lonely Planet as the rooms are humongous, there's a giant swimming pool, sunbathing spot on the roof (looking onto mountains), restaurant etc - and all the folk are super duper friendly😊

On our first eve we were trundling off to the night bazaar (giant market open every eve) when the heavens opened so we ducked into a near by bar - Nai's place - for some wetties and a couple games of pool. We ended up meeting some other friendly travellers - Lee and Laura from Guernsey (spelling?!) - Channel Islands! Tuesday turned out to be quite the adventure and I have to say - our best day yet! We met up with Lee and Laura in the morn and jumped on a bus to Chiang Dao. We were keen to explore the caves there - which turned out to be AWESOME -complimentary bats and everything!! We had to pay 20B for electricity only to walk 5m before descending into pitch black - you are then forced to hire a guide with a lantern - funny stuff i tell ya! Our guide was hilarious - think she only knew 3 English words (who am i to judge though - my Thai is hardly top notch!) - those being 'Mind your head' which she repeated throughout the whole cave marathon!! She was super funny but guess you had to be there! We then had a munch before making our way back to the bus stop. Before leaping on board, Lee and Slime decided it was Chang time so bought a couple beers and sat in the sun... if any of you know Slime you know he has the bladder of a peanut! Damn it was funny - thought the beery goodness was going to start spilling out of his ears, eyeballs - even seeping out from between his toes! In the end we literally had to stop the bus - this caused mass excitement as the entire bus waited and laughed while the silly white boys ran around looking for a loo!! The bus adventure didn't stop there - we also managed to befriend a Thai local by the name of Dang - he without a doubt had the best laugh i have ever heard! We had fat chats (and funny laughs) for over an hour and when it was time to get off he invited us all to his home for more Chang! Was quite surreal - there's Slime and I sat with 2 other travellers who we'd only just met plus Dang and his cousin laughing and passing round a steady supply of Chang - excellent fun i say! We then continued our mission to 'Nut's Chillout Bar' where we met another local character by the name of P-Boy (so many jokes - not sure how Slime contained himself!!) Anyhoo - by now Slime was stumbling about like a true trooper and was fast earning his reputation of the 'mal mang ma' one (really really drunk) - the locals were having many a chuckle (we went back the next night and they all remembered him and immotated his giant stumbles!Go Sime!) We ended off the epic day at this live music venue - owes were jamming in style i say- nothing like a top notch beat to end off a top notch day. i headed home at around 1am - Slime and Lee carried on till 3am and came back with more stories which i dare not type!! I'm just stoked they didn't fall in the giant moat which surrounds this wee town!

We were supposed to head into the jungle on Thursday for our 3 day trek but then one of the troopers got sick so it got pushed back till today... i then decided to throw many a cat all night Wednesday and Thursday so was not really in the trekking mode today! We were hoping to go tomorrow but I'm not sure I'm ready to don my jungle boots just yet so we're probably going to head for Pai instead - it's a wee hippie town further North - super chilled out spot situated on a fat river with many an artist and musician wafting through. We'll then head back this way on Tuesday and charge into the jungle!

Right badgers - my time is up and I think i need another horizontal time out... have to get my rest before i brave some birthday rice with Sime over dinner! Sorry bout this here blog - you're probably bored sh*tless - there really has been many a fun story but it's hard to get my funny groove on when having a small die! I'll check in again in a few days - hope everyone's still smiling😊

Lots of love and sneaky bear hugs
