Then we set off for the ultimate Hanoi manly man experience. Snake. After a $15 taxi ride to an obscure town across the river we arrived at Lang Ran Le Mat where we encounter a Cobra, our dinner. As part of tradition, after the kill, the man eats the beating heart, which Alex gladly took down. He further had his first shot of snake blood (and vodka) which secured his trip to manhood. Madeline and Ariel didn’t enjoy the 9 course dinner of snake as much as we did. As we returned to Hanoi, Madeline found the Green Tangerine, which is one of the top restaurants in Hanoi. The tasting menu was suberb as the kids passed out from fatigue, we headed back to our family suite at the Viet Anh.
