Day 5
Here we go again! Really didn't sleep well last night; just tossing and turning, and so was Renske, then up at eight for more scrambled egg and bread. My back pack weighs so much more than I remembered!

We set off on a very respectable small bus for the two hour journey to Ninh Binh. We are staying in a nice hotel, which was a welcome surprise! I got a room on my own with a double bed AND a fridge, which I have VERY kindly agreed to share with Nadia and Britty. I think Thành gave it to me as he has an inate respect for older people...LOL

We had a really good lunch which was a bit of a shock at first; goat, rice, an unrecognisable veg, a chicken and a tofu dish. We all had a go at the goat which was actually really nice! Brit and I took the first try on our table....how brave we are! After lunch we went for an EPIC walk to nowhere as a whole group in our free time. Again, quite surprisingly, I actually enjoyed it. Everyone mingled and chatted for a couple of hours as we walked. I think we were quite a visual spectacle as we received constant beeps, waves, stares and peace signs as we walked. It is really wired to be in the minority!

Another favourable meal, followed by a gentle social evening with the group. It was too dark to go out! ... And no lights any where! We went up onto the top balcony and settled into natural groups. Will, on his own playing at - trying to open his security lock so that he could get into his backpack. He started at number 1, the actual number was very near to the other end of the number scale available. Lol

Journal club were all catching up on the days events, and chatting through their events of what has occurred Then finally the last group was my chosen group, the card school. As Britt seemed to be leading the group, we started by playing 'Fish', thanks Britt, That took me back a few years..lol. We then progressed to ,'Rummy'. At this point, and after winning everything which could in fact be put down to so many years practise...... My self and Nadia dipped out. Britt, Hannah and Thanh played a British pop quiz in Vietnamese....they surprisingly got a low score. When Nadia got board... She stuck cards all over her face to prove a point....she was right....her face was in fact ........sticky!
