To the farm after breakfast and start to burn the huge clump of bamboo that we want to lose. I have progressed from a small back garden bonfire to a small burn off at the farm to a raging inferno this morning - what comes next ?
Most of the undergrowth disappears with the fire but the bamboo itself remains undefeated and will have to be burnt again and again and then finally cut by hand I am afraid.
We go back to the farm late aftyernoon and start a couple aof smaller fires around each of the clumps but the ashes from tjhis mornings faires are still too hot and we are burning our feet walking on them.
I am supposed to be taking Jai to visit her nephews expectant wife after we have eaten this evening. When we get back from the farm, however, we discover that she has already gone to the hospital in Phon Thong and has had a daughter by C-Section about 10 days early.
