Finally, a day of relaxation, we got ready for breakfast and once again, we ate when we weren't that hungry! Lobby time to check emails and to send the travel pod story, we were deciding what we were going to do today, thoughts are, to go in on the shuttle, relax on the beach, have a massage on the beach, have a swim, relax, all those good things, but the other thing, Clint's suggestion ( not mine, I wanted to relax!) is to go on the 11.30am shuttle to Patong for some last minute shopping, so as we were walking back through the lobby, we saw Aroon, the driver we had on Sunday, so we asked how much for him to take us. For one way, it's 700 baht in a taxi, but he said 800 baht return. We also organised through him to go to Phi Phi Island for Wednesday,
We flew back to our room to get our stuff, then we took off to Patong, via Aroon's office in Patong, then he dropped us off at the big shopping centre Jungceylon. From here we decided to go to the beach first, relax first then a swim while
watching the world go by.
We left the beach around 1pm, then we went to the laneway where one of the hundreds of massage places are, shopping along the way, then we both had a massage, Clint had a hand, neck and shoulder and I had a Thai oil massage, naked!! Shock horror!! But by the end of the hour, my back pain was gone.
Lunch we decided to eat Indian Thai in a little laneway, and it was very enjoyable.
Next was to do last minute shopping, just because we had some money still to spend!!
Pick up time was at 4.30pm, then we returned to our hotel to get ready for our next pick up at 6pm, this time to go see Phuket Fantasea.
A well organised pick up, to getting our tickets, to wandering through the themed stores, all to do with elephants and Thai culture. Dinner was a buffet, in a room that seats 4500 people, this was packed with people eating at times that suited them. We lined up to get our dinner, not really wanting to eat as we were still full from our late lunch.
We bought a photo package and we had a
photo taken with 2 baby elephants and then we had one with the baby tiger, who was very hungry feeding from a bottle.
We had fantastic seats and when we spoke to the people next to us, they were from Adelaide!!
What are the chances of that!!
The show was great, there was some Thai dancing, the elephants came past, then there was acrobats just above us and there were some really funny bits with chooks, goats, pigeons, and then the elephants came and did their tricks for the show. So funny when they pooped, and then wee'd , they had rubbish bins ready for the wee and pooper scoopers ready!! No cameras were allowed throughout the show, we even had to hand all cameras and phones in.
The show finished, we collected the phone and our photos, and went to our bus for our ride home.
It was s great day of relaxing today!!
