We decided yesterday that we would do Phi Phi Island for our last full day, so once again the alarm was set for 6am, giving us not much time for anything, but we had a light breakfast, quick check of emails then we were ready for our pick up at 7.20am. We picked up others along the way then we were off to the Marina in Phuket Town. We had a briefing about where we were going, then all 17 of us boarded the boat.
Our first island was Maya Bay, this is where the film "The Beach" was filmed in 1999. As we pulled into the crowded bay, so many tourists were bathing where the boats were pulling in, totally ignoring instructions to move, so all the boats spray the tourists by lifting the motors out of the water slightly, that's was so funny, certainly made them get out the water!!!
The beach here is beautiful, so blue/green, an unusual colour but so clear, beautiful swimming beach if a few thousand tourists would piss off!!
We had time here for a swim and a look around.
Next we went to Phi Phi Le in a bay that was so beautiful,
although we didn't anchor here, it was so inviting, a few boats were here anchored and were snorkelling. We left there and then went to see the Viking Cave, which was so deep, the guide said the cave was deeper than s full sized football field.
We then went not far from here to a nice little bay for snorkelling, and once again I snorkelled!!
Clint was already in the water with his video, when I jumped in off the side of the boat, when my bathers top came down and revealed my boobies! Clint was laughing and choking because he got it on camera, he thought it was so funny!! Yeah, haha!
We snorkelled here for about 45 minutes, with so many beautiful coloured fish, I saw rainbow fish and yellow Angel fish, just beautiful.
We snorkelled before lunch to work up an appetite, then we were off again, not far away to Phi Phi Don where we had a buffet lunch.
After lunch, we wandered back to the beach, Clint had a swim, and I had a walk along the beach.
Back on the boat again, we the set off for Monkey Beach, where the monkeys just hang around
in the trees and clinging to the rocks, we saw several baby Monkeys too, other boats fed them fruit.
Our final beach was Bamboo Island, where we had just over an hour to swim, sun bake and relax. The water here again was absolutely beautiful, do clear. We swam, and had a quick snooze until Japanese tourists rudely woke us, they never seem to talk quietly, so when 10 of them get together, it's really loud!
Time to get back on the boat, 45-60 minutes to get back to the wharf, then another half an hour shuttle back to Kamala Beach. We asked to be dropped off in the Main Street as we were going to have dinner before getting back to our room. We found another market but this was mainly for the locals, a lot of fresh foods, fruit etc. We walked to the beach where we wandered until we found a restaurant for dinner. Thai food overlooking Kamala Bay, getting eaten alive by mozzies!!
Finally we got a tuk tuk back to the hotel, this one was a plain one, in Patong they have them with flashing lights and music, back to our room, then we had to have
a swim to cool off!!
Bed tonight at 10pm, we've had such a long, so tiring day in the sun all day!!
