Once again we were up early, no wait, we had a sleep in until 7am, so once we were showered and dressed, we headed down for breakfast, by this, I mean we literally have to go down about 30-40metres in height to get to breakfast. We are in a terraced room higher up, but not as high as some of the rooms here, they would be 75-100metres higher and they have golf buggies to take them up, no elevators here anywhere, it's either steps or steep slope!!
So after breakfast, we did the same, checked emails, and travelpod and spoke on the phone to Melanie.
We returned to our room to change into our bathers the went back down for a swim for an hour or so. Then it was time to pack up and get ready for our outing for the rest of the day.
We had to be in the lobby by 12.30pm, so we were down there early and our driver, who we had organised the day before, he was waiting for us already, eager to take us for the day.
Our first stop was at Patong, where we signed up to go Zip Lining, this cost
us 2300 Baht each, which works out to $95 AUD each, then we waited for the transport to pick us up. We collected others on the way then started up the hill through rain forrest then travelling for a while, we then started climbing up the hills, then climbing, and climbing until we got to a plateau, and we stopped to take photos. Back on the track again, and still further we climbed, then once at the top, we were then going down again, until almost to our destination, Sue the snake spotter, saw a green snake that we may have run over? Or dropped from a tree??? Scary stuff, and I'm not dreaming, another man saw it too!!
We were harnessed for our adventure and headed off towards our first platform, yes, up some stairs!! No matter where you are once you start zip lining, you are fully connected to the steel cables whether you are zipping or just on the platform. We did in total 10 zip lines and we abseiled down 4 we had 3 swinging bridges (which the 2 guides with us enjoyed making them swing whilst we crossed them), but these guys made our whole
experience fun, but also very safe. Once we finished our last abseil, face first to the ground, we the went back to the harness room, removed our harnesses and we then were taken to the lunch room, which had a fantastic view of the whole valley. Clint bought a T-shirt from here for 200 baht - $8.30AUD
Back on the 4 wheel drive down the steep hill, back to our guy waiting for us with his air conditioner running!
Our next stop was the the Premium Outlets on the other side of the island, once again, the driver parked and then said he'll wait for us, so off we went shopping, Clint was needing some new sports shoes, so we looked around for these first. There wasn't a lot here that interested me, I found the prices quite high. We finished off with an ice cream and bought one also for our driver.
Once again, back in the van for the Night Markets. We had no idea the size of these markets until we got there!
We started down one end, and by row 3, we split up and went our own way. I started buying some stuff, and an hour
or so later, I rang Clint to catch up for dinner. We bought some things and had to get out of the market as it was too hot in there and thousands of people. We found a VW combi van converted drinks wagon and got some drinks, I got a Singh Beer and Clint a scotch.
We returned into the market for a while, then we had decided we had enough and caught the transport back to our waiting driver.
A 45 minute drive back to Kamala Beach, then I had a cold bath to cool down as we were too late for the pool. We arrived back at 9.50pm. The driver for the day cost us 2000 baht about $80 for 9.5 hours work!!! We were happy!
An exciting and adventurous day, and very tiring with the hot and humid weather conditions.

Trust you to find a spider and post that on the blog. Guess walking up the hill aged Sue and you had to carry the old girl. Hope Sue didn't want to buy the pink hat at the bottom of the pile.
