around Ayutthaya on bikes
After long time I am sitting in the office on saturday afternoon and have some time to spare. It is pooring rain outside which means I am stuck in the office which gives me the time needed to finally finish my blog. I am writing this with knowledge that my brother has finally enough money to come to visit me - HURRRRRRRA as we say in my langugage so more home food coming my way 😊 even though I have to say I love
Well after the last time I posted something I went to Hua Hin (twice) and got nice sun tan.
The sun tan is gone now so is one of my best friends who came to visit. The memories we created will stay though. Such as me riding a motor bike for the first time and I my decision before I leave I will take a lesson of kite surfing.
My birthday came and went – I would like to thank those who remembered I even upload a picture of cake I got from my colleagues in the office. But the best present ever I had to pict up at the airport -
elephant
one of the pics the guide took Zuzka flew in from Barcelona to see me 😊 JUPIIIIIII
When Zuzka was here we went to Hua Hin so she got the feeling of holiday. The sea was really warm sometimes it as uncomfortable because it was warmer then the air (the wind was blowing other wise it was 35 degrees) at least that what we felt. The trip to Hua Hin was nice holiday for me after 2 months and holiday for Zuzka after exams - relax before travelling around SouthEast Asia.
We got around Hua Hin exploring to see some sights around. The place where we stayed was amazing I felt like being at home and since my Thai was slightly improved to my previous visit I could carry basic conversations.
During Zuzka´s visit we went to Hanoi ( I needed to do my Visa run and we taught why not Vientam - explanations later posts) and we managed to squeeze in a trip Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya is ancient city which was former capital of Siam (I think) which was pretty badly hit by the 2011 floods.
Ayutthaya was blazing hot but the bike ride made it bearable. First on the agenda was trip
temple
one of the amazing temples to elephant village and floating market. The floating market was nothing special just some shops around some water.
The elephants are amazing creature and I was less scared then I expected. Zuzana was not but since she already rode one before I did not pay much attention to that. We took a small 40 min tour around on elephant and our guide was amazing. When he took pictures of us we went really down (on his knees) to get the best pictures possible. As we were getting of the elephant he struck his trunk out - first I taught he wants more bananas (I was ready to buy some) but it turned out he was expecting TIP! He took the money and gave it to the guide. We couldnt not believe, it was soooo funny.
After the excitement we hopped on our bikes again and through busy intersection (road leading to the north from Bangkok) we headed to one of the most beautiful temples. By this time we were so thirsty that we wouldn’t wait to find a nice cool 7/11 to cool of.
After taking some really nice pics we headed to see more temples which
Hua Hin
at the ancient central station were very tricky to get to since we had to take the road which leads from Bangkok in order to be able to cross the bridge but at the end it was worth it.
This was my fist visit after the floods and I was relieved that the damage was not such bad as I expected.
Ayutthaya is amazing and peaceful place where the history is alive. If you ever come to Thailand scratch Phuket and come here instead.
