I have just finished my studies at the Uni and decided that Iam too young to get stuck in an office job so I took some time off and now Iam travelling to Thailand to work there for a year. 😊

My dream came true!!! I saw Mt. POPA! Arrival in Bagan was really tricky because it took about 20min. and 5guest houses to find available room but luck stuck and I had lovely single in the Motel. I set the alarm at 7 (2,5hours more) and went to sleep. But before I started to think about how very tired of travelling (great news for my mum and friends who want to have me closer) I am and how long can I go for. Well the alarm didn’t really work cos I overslept. I took shower, put on fresh clothes and went to the reception area to find out about Popa because I was not very keen in paying 50000 for a taxi to get there. My lucky star struck again - Austrian couple wanted to go ... read more

To continue where I left of - I took an overnight (understand arriving early morning 3am) bus to Taunggyi but somehow persuaded the driver to drop me off in Shwenyuang. The bus I took looked more like the one I expected before. During the travel I had to make up a boyfriend because one eager young boy wanted to chat with me but spoke little English and kept repeating if I was single. As expected I arrived in the middle of the night this time I was set not to take an overpriced taxi and wait to share or for pick up. I order green tea to keep me awake and was ready to camp. 5minutes later another bus stopped almost running over some of the taxi drivers who were standing around and eager Japanese stepped ... read more

After a long time and travels to Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore I find myself in a guest house in Myanmar. You might ask why the hell Myanmar and my answer is why the hell not? My ultimate travelling dream is to see Mt. Popa and I wanted to experience the country before tourists turn it into other Angor Wat or Vang Vieng,.... Cambodia and Angor Wat were spectacular (what else to expect from a 'floating' temple). Laos was great (I got stuck in a cave), saw the amazing Vang Vieng.... Malaysia brought me an amazing new friend and two beautiful sarees :-) . If I will have more time I will get back to those some other time. Now to my current trip. With my stay in Southeast Asia coming the end I decided to ... read more

Zuzka and I caught a flight from Bangkok in unholy hour. We almost froze at the airport – I don’t see the need to use the air con and freeze in building. I felt like walking into a fridge where it was about 15°C while outside it was nice 27°C and instead of staying inside we prefered sitting outside. The weather in Hanoi could not be different in was only 10°C so my cardigan and long trousers came handy because it was raining in Hanoi. Well everything what I had in my suitcase proved to be very handy during the stay since almost all the time I had everything on :) Soon after arrival we changed money – well we became millionaires in very short time. I changed 3000 Baht which gave me almost 2mil. Vietnamese ... read more

After long time I am sitting in the office on saturday afternoon and have some time to spare. It is pooring rain outside which means I am stuck in the office which gives me the time needed to finally finish my blog. I am writing this with knowledge that my brother has finally enough money to come to visit me - HURRRRRRRA as we say in my langugage so more home food coming my way :) even though I have to say I love Well after the last time I posted something I went to Hua Hin (twice) and got nice sun tan. The sun tan is gone now so is one of my best friends who came to visit. The memories we created will stay though. Such as me riding a motor bike for the ... read more

Late but anyway I would like to talk about best Xmas in my life :) It was spent in Saint Ursula monastery in Bangkok – for those of you who do not know I attended elementary and high school in Bratislava called St. Ursula School. The school was managed by the St. Ursula convent. At first nobody in Slovakia wanted to give me contact on anybody within the monastery in Bangkok the reason being – they are very private. Finally when I contacted sr. Siphim she was so happy to help me as well as everybody else in the convent. Contrary to Slovak monastery the one in Bangkok is opened for others and helps people in Thailand. Before Xmas I attended school ballet performance which was very professional. I attended with nuns and it was special ... read more

Asia » Thailand » Central Thailand » Ko Samet December 6th 2011

This weekend I went with my friends –best colleagues in the world to Ko Samet :) It was difficult from my side to find the bus station but when I did trip could begin. The best place I have been to so far – with white sandy beaches, palms and turquoise water. The journey from Ekkamai took almost 5 hours. We went through fields of pineapples and pineapples – never ever seen so many if my life. Everywhere there were decorations ahead of His majesties birthday (I was told not to say anything bad about the royal family – but my question is why would I say anything bad when I have nothing against them?). Thailand is amazing – forests (when there aren’t fields of pineapples) and very green. If it wasn’t palms but pine trees ... read more

During my first week times were rough – getting used to the heat and waking up again early. I do not know what was worser. The heat was not as bad as everybody told me – not able to breath or live it was fine I even managed couple of walks instead of taking the MRT (metro). Do not take me wrong it is hot (over 30 degrees but the night are nice – around 24) but it is bearable but I do not know why I can not sleep properly – I wake up several times a night. But to my work – Iam sure m friends are curious what is it that I do, who are my colleagues, how they are and whether I like the work. To be honest I was worried when ... read more

Second part of my travel preparations was to finish all my vaccinations, buying tablet (so I could keep in touch during my travels) and new phone. :) My last vaccination was 4 days before departure. On Thursday I went to see Maja to walk with her and last efforts to do everything I did not have time to do before, I even squized cinema in– I went to see Breaking Dawn with my brother because my usual companion was not around and I could not think about anybody better to go with. Everybody during the day kept asking me whether I am already packed but to be honest I started packing at 20:00 and was finished by 21:00 -the charm of frequent flyer. The dilema than started because as usual I packet too much (instead of ... read more

Well where do I begin? In september I went on seminar with AIESEC so I could go abroad with them for an internship because I taught that before I settle and get an office job I should travel some more (I was never the one who could be at one place without moving too long). And about a month ago I got matched through AIESEC database with the Plant a Tree foundation in Bangkok. My first taught amazing Iam going to move to Bangkok but next morning my reaction was Bangkok really????? What have I got myself into. I rearch internet for the needed vaccinations and when I found out what I need I was like hell no - I already feel like pin- cusion :( So to this date I had 4 vaccinations - typhoid, ... read more
