Firstly that I am not inspired when I log on to a soulless windows machine and am told that I am connected at 28.8 kbps. Next, including, but not limited to:-
Three consecutive flights equals 2 lost pairs of reading glasses and 1 pair of sunglasses. It is always good to have a friend from New England (who obviously would know about these things) who the last time I saw him gave me an EXACT replacement for the lost sunglasses.
Learn some Thai, even please and thank you. When you go out on a boat for a day, in the middle of the day, with strangers, to a remote island TAKE SOME TOILET TISSUE.
Don't expect sunscreen to stay on when you sit down straight afterwards to eat breakfast. If you expect it still to be there you are in for a surprise. Drinking enough water to stave off dehydration may necessitate at least 4 trips to the loo during the night.
When you don't eat mammalian or avian flesh, dont assume that a meal that you order that starts with "noodles with pork, beef or prawns" will only have prawn protein. In fact DON'T ASSUME.
When taking a 6 hour coach journey take the risk of dehydration.
I'll update you guys more when we reach Chiang Mai, as Uncle Mac should be online there as our accommodation has promised me LAN in my room!!! Piccies too!!!
