Just to explain, the Thai use "same same but different" when dealing with tourists' questions. As this doesn't make sense if not fully explained it confuses (and very often frustrates) foreigners e.g. why are you telling me that the tour you're offering today is same same but different to that tour tomorrow?!. it means 'Yes, something kind of similar to that, but not the exactly s... we spent almost 10 hours in a crammed with people and their backpacks van when getting from Malaysia into Thailand. When we finally got to Krabi we struggled with finding accommodation as it was just before Chinese New Year. All places were full and we were losing our hope (i was already prepared to sleep on the beach)...and then suddenly in 15th odd place they had a room available!

crammed with people - again! so typical for Thailand. They cram as many people as possible, whether it's a bus, a van or a boat. Health & safety anyone?!

the problem with the day trips is that they never give you enough time to fully enjoy a place:-(

this time this was a National Park and we had to pay a fee to get onto the island (it was quite expensive considering the 45 minutes we were given). (Fee for a foreigner is always MUCH MORE expensive then for a Thai). snorkelling was good there but simply swimming in the turquise water was amazing

there were some monkeys in this bay, of course cheeky thieves! as always wherever there are tourists around. i didn't take my camera with me as we kayaked to get onto the island. snorkelling was amazing there! lots of beautiful schools. This is on Phi Phi island but one can get there only on a boat/kayak

bar owners do everything to attract customers, everyone can have a fight - those who have a go get so called: bucket (spirit + soft drink) for free. (you will see these buckets later in photos)

you can see two bays on the island, the one on the left is busier as there's a port, it's also nicer for swimming. The view changed a lot after tsunami had hit the island in Dec 2004, it got built up more than before thanks to financial aid local people received.

we hiked to get to this beach from the look-out point. it was better than we had expected it to be! it was truly stunning and we spent half a day there swimming, snokelling, sunbathing, finding and eating coconuts and simly enjoying. snorkelling was brilliant!
