Our Nex to Last StayOur Nex to Last StayOur Nex to Last Stay

1 night at Bo Phut beach before we fly to Singapore.
We're nearly on our way home. Today is our last day on Ko Samui - we leave for Singapore this afternoon. Samui has been quite an assault on the senses. Crazy, loud, crowded, over-expozed, commercialized. We spent 2 nights in the thick of the beach madness (at a very nice hotel) and realized we needed to find some quiet. We went to the north shore and found just what we were looking for. World Resort has beautiful gardens, quiet families and couples, great food and sensuous breezes. We would love to have spent several days luxuriating in this quiet.

All along through our journey's we've been playing around with some statistics...keeping count of the special and the mundane. So, here our our nearly final stats.

Postcards sent - 2

Suitcases out - 4
Bruises & bumps - 12
Mosquito bites - 77
Pictures taken - 842
Tears Tamra's cried about end of trip - 82

One last statistic that I don't know how to properly label, has to do with some new awarenesses and the experiments or agreements that result. For example, we wrote earlier about "Steve" our pseudonym for ego. This is actually a very handy tool for referring to our endless ego moves. We see it or hear it...and then acknowledge "Steve". "Did Steve tell you that???"

Another, is our awareness of just how much we complain. GOD it's annoying! (see?) How is that two of the luckiest and most grateful people on the planet can also whine endlessly about absolutely nothing? But we do it, we saw it, and we're trying to stop it. To that end, we've come up with ritual of, when we here the other (or ourselves) complain or whine about ANYTHING, we reach out a hand to the other and ask "would you like to start again?" Then we shake hands and start over with our

intention to quit complaining.

Yet another is the seeing of how much we create waste...food especially. We'll sit down to order food, gluttenous and greedy and end up leaving food behind. Solution? We order one thing at a time and share meals - ensuring no waste, saving money and enjoying a new little custom in our travels.

All these will be coming home with us where we plan to continue to see ourselves and each other and partner together in growing beyond our current limitations. (See Simon's blog post later today about how neurosis has shown up on this trip and the experiments which confront help to confront them).

Wow. Loved your thoughts and your statistics. I hope we can see your pictures and share in your adventure and insights, at least some during couple's circle, and, hopefully, a lot more later. This certainly does sound like the trip of a lifetime. Missing you, loving you, blessing you and your journey together. How does Steve feel about that? Paulimon
