Dear Friends and Family - Yesterday we headed for Naton using the local songtau (truck Taxi). Regular taxis are 400 baht where the songtau is 60 baht per person. Naton is a lot like we remembered from 16 years ago other than a new pier some more shops. Of course Ann headed for the nearest batik shops and purchased same. A couple of pieces were actually art work by the shop owner who also has a website and sells on EBay. Yeah!!!

Last night we had thunder most of the night and a good portion of today. It certainly made for a much cooler day that we appreciated.

Those of you who are IBEW associates will enjoy the picture of local electrical infurstructure. Also any IBEW equipment operators will appreciate the local line truck for setting poles.

All for now,

Jim and Ann

Great Pics!
And one thing to add - for those poles they just dig a deep hole, put the post in, and push some the dirt back in around it. No cement or anything! I am no expert on this, but I am currious to see what others think of it. It is not uncommon to see these poles moving a while after (and some times not so long after) they have been placed. The wiring is fascinating. Thanks again for posting. All the best, Paul Valente The Best of Samui Resorts and Hotels on Koh Samui
