before i get to samui and the full moon i just want to mention something from bangkok that i for got last time . ok so picture this, i was on one of the local taxi boats on the way the grand palace speeding through the back ends of bangkok. the boats our shamed together but are facking fast, there about the length of a bus but real skinny and are basically powered by a lorry engine!!! they put there foot down and u pretty much get thrown out the back of ur seat!! but anyways i digress, so i was speeding through the back ends of bangkok watching it speed by when i see a another taxi boat stopped on the side of the river on a break or something. i looked at the boat driver and he's wearing a facking saints shirt!!!!! a saints shirt!!! wot the fuck, i couldnt believe my eyes!! i starting point and shouting he was a legend but i think i actually scared the crap out of him as he gave me one wierd look, which i cant blame him. a 6'3 ugly assed white tourist starts shouting at him prob thought i wanted to mug him or something!! but i was impressed that saints have such international appeal!!!!!
so koh samui and the full moon. after all the bad press i'd heard about samui about it being built up and ugly and busy i was pretty impressed. i think we lucked out when we booked somewhere to stay in bangkok because we ended up in beach bungalows 100 yards from a really quiet and out the way beach and was awesome to be able to just chill for a while. though its got nothing on where i am now in tao, but thats for another time!!! the trip to samui was a killer, 20 hours in total but was a laugh!!! me and rosie, a girl from the hostel in bangkok left the hostel at around 7pm and were on the coach till 5 next morning. we sat next to some kiwi's who were awesome banter. the first half of the coach they blasted out a load of films so was no chance of sleeping. and if i have to watch another shit jessica simpson film i might personally kill her so she cant make another!! i havent got a clue what the film was called but it was so bad i almost gauged my eyes out so i couldnt watch it!!!! once theyd switched off the films, we were able to try and sleep, which for me didnt happen, even my attempt at sleeping in the aisle didnt work!!! so at about 4 i popped a couple of nytol thinking i had a gd 3/4 more hours on the coach not realising i'd be kicked off in an hours time. this left me completely out of it but awake whilst we waited 2 hours for the ferry, pretty much incapable of speaking or thinking a bit less then normal!!! so if i could give u one piece of advise, it would be this, dont buy facking nytol!!
pretty much most of the time on samui was spent doing nothing getting over the full moon, me and rosie met up at the beach huts with the 3 other guys from bangkok who had headed down the day before, ck, jon and nat. fri night was the night of the full moon, we caught the ferry over to phang gan at about 4 in afternoon, the first part of evening we spent eating in the coolest bar i think i've ever been in waiting for the sun to set and the crowds to pick up. jon thought it'd be a fun idea to buy some uv body paint, and the next hour or so was spent paint on each other, though when it came round to me after everyone else was painted, they'd all seemed to run out of ideas and i ended up with yellow rings round my nipples and a few lines on my face!!!! the party from my experience was awesome, maybe cos i'd not stayed on phang gan before it and not experienced a night out there which apparently the full moon is the same but loads busier. but as far as the eye could see there were people dancing and having fun with people painted up and dressed up. its was great fun and we ended up staying till the 9 oclock ferry the next morning, with c.k slumped out on the deck!!! twas gd fun!!!
