Welcome to the JungleWelcome to the JungleWelcome to the Jungle

Struggling on the first day, a little sweaty.
Hash and Mark here on our return to civilization. On arriving in Chang Mai on the 8th, we check into a nice little guest house at about 90p per person per night (much cheaper here than Bangkok) and swiftly book ourselves onto a 3 day jungle trek leaving at 10am the next day.

We spend the day exploring the city, before we hit the town for a few beers. The few beers turned to many and after a few pubs, two night clubs and a few antics, we arrived back at the guest house at 7am. After 2 hours sleep and a Full English we head to the jungle...

The first day was grueling 4 hour trek up a mountain which was a struggle to say the least, but we made it and spent the night in a small village at the top. After a much needed rest, we were awoken by a cockerel and fed before we began our second day of trekking. Today was much easier and the 5 hours of trekking were separated by swims at two amazing waterfalls and lunch at another village before we settle at another village for the evening with cards and cold beers.

The final day was a short trek before elephant riding, white water rafting and some fairly unsuccessful bamboo rafting (we sank) before heading back to the guest house.

Awesome.

Until next time, Pipe.

feel a bit sorry for the elephant
Hi Guess you guys are on your way back to Bangkok and getting ready to fly off to Australia. How you managed 4 hours trekking after a night on the tiles and 2 hours sleep is a profound mystery. Have a great journey - can't wait for the Ozzie stories. Love Mum
