Lotus flowers outside the Ramada Plaza Hotel Friday
Awake and drinking coffee before 9 o,clock this morning. Opened the curtains to a brighter day, almost blue sky.
Hearing and reading news that it's rained heavily back at home in Paphos.
Plan for today, heading out for more exploring and visit a different Mall.
More mundane tasks at first, we arranged for some laundry to be collected and sorted out by the hotel. Haven't seen anything in the local vicinity laundrywise and when you are away for three months you can only bring so much stuff.
As per our usual morning routine we got a take away coffee from the hotel lobby and booked the 1030 river boat at the concierge.
Pat had done her usual research and we were heading for the Centralworld Mall allegedly the largest in Asia. This entailed a train journey for us on the Sky train.
So, after the boat to the Saphin Taksin Central pier we made way up to the station and bought our tickets to Siam station which cost TB 34 each for a single. Most places at the moment are checking backpacks and we tend to carry one between us on a day

The ferris wheel at Asiatique Mall out, so we are stopped now and again, which is not a problem to us.
The Thai people form orderly queues to join the train, it is a lovely sight. The ride is five stops and only took a short while. Off the train and a covered walkway takes you from the train to the Mall.
Our first stop was a Blue cup coffee place and we both had breakfast croissant (egg, bacon, lettuce and tomato in a croissant) it was very scrummy. These with a latte and an americano cost TB 390.
So now we wandered around the Mall, it was actually pretty upmarket and although it was nice to look in the windows we were never going to be buying anything here, so decided to move on to another Mall, as we were looking for a few bits and pieces and never going to find them here.
The Siam Paragon was visible so we made our way to it and got to it quite easily. In the basement was a Seaworld with a lengthy queue and the ground floor food court was teeming with people. However the shops above were even more upmarket than

Our dinner Friday night at Kamlangsib Chicken Rice eatery the previous place. Most of the designer names and posh brands you can think of were here. Including showrooms for Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Porsche and Maserati cars. Again this was nice to look at but not what we were looking for, so after a short while we moved on to the Siam Centre next door.
This place was still not what we were looking for so we had a look, a drink at a cafe and decided to return to the hotel.
We found our way back to Siam station Sky train with only a little wandering around and purchased our tickets back to Saphin Taksin.
It was here at the station that I managed to buy some trainer socks for TB 35 a pair, that I had been looking for.
We made our way to the pier and the hotel boat was there after 10 minutes and we were back in the room at 1520.
The weather was kind today and we had no rain at all whilst out. Occasionally the sun managed to break through the cloud cover, but overall the temperature is still hot.
The laundry was returned a short while after we returned to the room.
As we hadn't eaten much yet, we went out a little earlier in the direction of the Asiatique Mall.
Pat had a couple of things in mind to buy, so we did some shopping first and made a purchase at Naraya, of a make up bag and then in the market area a new Pashmina.
Then it was tea time and we were persuaded into a place called Kamlangsib Chicken rice. We ordered a set menu grilled ckicken, steamed rice, soup and watermelon. A Pad Thai chicken dish, stir fried vegetables and some spring rolls. it was delicious and with drinks came to TB 579.
We continued looking around for a while, then had some ice cream, followed by a stroll back to the hotel. We were back in the room for 8.30.
