Heading to BangkokHeading to BangkokHeading to Bangkok

Buying some fresh pineapple for our bus ride.
When we arrived in Bangkok we applied for our Myanmar visa. It took us awhile to decide how to apply for the Myanmar visa because there was a protest that began the day before we arrived. We ran into a man while searching for the office and finding a place to stay. This man was from Myanmar and worked for a western company as a reporter. He gave us a heads up about the protest and answering our questions about Myanmar since we had doubts about the country we were heading to next. At the end we decided to go ahead with our trip to Myanmar and applied for our visa on our own. The first day we went to apply for our visa, there was a long line up and outside was lined with a few reporters and cameras set up facing the embassy. We knew the protest was happening at 10am as we were told by the reporter so after 5 minutes to 10am we decided to try the next day. The protest apparently occured but we didn't hear a lot about it. We successfully applied for the visa and ready to head off for mysterious Myanmar. When we

were waiting for the visa we managed to make our way towards the famous palace in Bangkok, although we did not make it in because it closed at 3pm. The outside was nicely groomed and can tell the wall is large. Instead of the palace we made our way to the Wat Pho largest laying down Budha. Well the Budha was so big it was a little difficult to fit in one photo 😊

For the rest of the time we patiently waited for our visa, got some American cash ready for our trip, enjoyed a few massages and did a cooking class by the place we were staying in. Somehow we managed to find an apartment room after going through 3 different people who told us they had rooms for us to stay in. Well the place worked out, clean and convenient.
