Dave waiting for the Quantas flight to take off...it took a day and mulitple hours waiting for it to take off to Bangkok
Dave and I are here...in Bangkok.
We had a flight out of London supposed to be on Aug 16th, however there happened to be mechanical problems and we never left the airpt that day. We got a hotle room for the night and breakfast thanks to Quantas Airlines, and tried again the next day.
Aug 17th we finally flew out of London but not without with a 2 hours delay!!!!!!
I was begining to think that us being in this country was not meant to be.
We booked a hotel room and day tour at the airprot as soon as we arrived. We got a 2 star hotel for 1700 bhat a night which roughly translates to 50 a night. I guess we could have saved some cash if we got a hostel but we treated ourselves for the first 2 night.
The city is crowded, it feels like we are the only non Asian people here!! There is garbage all over which is kinda smelly, tons of stray dogs and cats...but the people are nice!!
We are still battling the jet lag and being so many hours behind what it is at home.
So we got a guided tour of

some temples and of the city. We saw 3 temples and at the end of the tour "Nancy" our guide took us to a stupid jewlery store...which we walked through quickly as we didnt want any and were being stalked by women in pink suits. Then we got suckered into walking into a silk store where they make tailor made suits and clothes...umm again no thanks.
On the second day we had a free brakfast at the hotel, and had a 4 hour nap...like I said we are suffering from jet lag. Walked around the hotel, there are huge shopping centers, one is 7 stories high. Then all I wanted to do was go to see a Park which was like 40 min away...when we finally got there...it started to downpour!! however, we got to see the park where there was tons of Thai people running and really into fitness, there even was an outdoor gym.
Its a busy, crowded, traffic jammed city, but I am happy we are here exploring.
We are probably going to head to the other side of town for the next few nights to explore more there!
We are safe and sound and enjoying the
