How did it get to Monday already?? Feels like we been here ages but at same time like we only just arrived - so much we still want to do in and around Bangkok

Tried to see the Grand Palace today but apparently is Bangkok holiday so was closed for worship so we couldn't go in!

Went to the railway station then to book train tickets - were going to get the bus again as was fairly straight forward and cheap last time - but waited ages and our bus never came so flagged a tuk tuk.

Were no spaces left on the train we wanted so ended up getting an earlier one which takes a smidgin longer - but we now have train tickets!!! Leave for Chiang Mai at 1800 Tuesday 16th October 07 and arrive 0720 Weds morn - that's like a 13 hour train journey - lucky we have beds - this could be very interesting - will keep you posted ;-) All for the extortionate price of 791baht - like 12 quid!!!

Came back to hostel via tuk tuk after a long detour trying to find yet another bus stop ;-) Came back with the intention of getting changed and heading back to the Grand Palace but ended up asleep....oops...we were exhausted - still not adjusted body clocks properly i feel!!!

Ate at a place called 'Oi Hungry' and it was actually so nice that we decided to come back before we leave tomorrow ;-)

Went back to the Palace as we had been told earlier there would be fireworks & celebrations but there was nothing going on when we got there and then it chucked it down, again, so we got drenched and figured well obviously in this weather fireworks would have been out of the question!!
