Back to Phahurat today, which I visited when I’d first arrived here. Today is much quieter than last time, a Sunday, as there aren’t the extra stalls on the pavement. But it’s still pretty hectic. There are stalls selling Christmas decorations and lots selling haberdashery, so I buy some ribbons, lace and beads to customise some of my tops. Yes, me, who has trouble sewing on a button, is going to “customise”
my clothes. I can always wear the ribbons in my hair if it doesn’t work out! Phahurat leads into Chinatown so I walk through there to get to the pier…..in a roundabout way….. I end up completely lost, and all the street signs are in Thai! I keep walking blindly (as you know my favoured, tried and tested technique) and after many turns, dead ends and strange looks whilst trying to confidently look as though I know where I’m going…… I get to Rachovongse Pier….see pic…and head back to have a shower. I don’t know why, because when I get back from my evening walking round Sukhumvit I’m filthy! I have also discovered porn….where to buy it!! I get off the sky train at Nana station and there are

Chestnuts roasting
lots of stalls in a row selling porno DVD’S, and the covers leave nothing to the imagination (I‘ve seen enough of that from Britney Spears this week!). You definitely know what you’re going to be seeing when you buy one of these. So - if you need any porno, give me a shout! Eat at Cabbages and Condoms again and the food is again delicious, and I get 2 more condoms! On the way back I almost fall over an elephant. A real one.
