The Veggie Patch I'm glad you pointed out that was the veggie patch. When I saw the photo minus the description I did wonder if you'd buried someone!!! Thank you for putting my mind at rest!
Thankyou!!! Hi Sam
Thankyou so much for writing this blog. I volunteered at Forever elephant camp in 07 and reading your blog was like going to visit old friends. If your still there please write more!

Saancome Huge condolences about Saancome. On my first day, after my bizarre journey and heavenly shower, I ventured downstairs on my own to find Saancome standing outside the accommodation. That was my first elephant experience!!!! That's so sad. Thai people are SO much less sentimental than us!!!! I shall send a facebook flower for you both.

Missing grumpy cat I never did see that cat again. Maybe it wsn't preggers and got really annoyed with us for constantly prodding it in the belly when she's just been overindulging a bit????
I was so looking forward to this blog...... My lovely Sam ,
I was waiting expectantly for this blog and you havent let me down. After having a horrible day ( crunched the car on way to work- ouch!) you have made me laugh so much, tears are running down my face ! I will pass by the scurolous suggestion that I was longer than 10 mins when I went back to try and wake him up !! and yes there was a bit of hand holding over lunch- but then as you say I was well oiled(and having looked at the photos - your right it does look like 'HE LOVES ME! - and on one I look like I love him ! (for obvious reasons not forwarding that one on!) far too much wine and emotion on that day! I still have the image of Alice saying her polite goodbyes whilst you and I are practically screaming with laughter ! I of course am elaborating the story each time I tell it , by this time next week according to me, Pe will have been swinging from the chandelier shouting -'come on girls, come and get me !!' When I was telling one of the girls about the 'how do we get the linen changed without looking like trollops' dilema - she very quickly( a bit too quickly- hmm mispent youth I wonder?) said ' you should have intentionally dropped a cup of coffee on the bed ! Serves us right for being too sloshed for rational thought ! I did tell her that we came up with all sorts of ideas in the cold light of day! We couldnt laugh about it at the time and did that very british thing of smiling sweetly infront of his face and then as soon as he walked away said what we really thought! ( just picture us doing the Catherine Tate Grandma thing - 'what a liberty!') However I am very proud of us - 'DIGNITY at all times darrlink!' To all those who stumble across Sams blog and are considering going to the elephant camp - DO, ITS FANTASTIC - however I have to say i am sure the experince would not have been half as good if it were not for the lovely Sam and Alice who I was lucky enough to be with. Now I am back home with a bump - literally if you remember that I crunched my car this morning ! my trip seems such a long time ago however I will NEVER forget the time I spent with you Sam and Alice and WE MUST organise that reunion - I am planning lots of overtime already ! 10/6 my lovely Sam and Alice. Annie xx
Grumpy Cat Wotcha!!! Did the grumpy cat at the studios ever have it's kittens? I would have thought that after all the gratuitous unceremonious squeezing of her stomach we did would have helped them along?!!
Still missing it all - will write soon!
Tess

memories Just read your blogs, good to hear how life is going back there. Hope you are not working too hard, we will see you next weekend to catch up with all that has been going on!
SOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!!! OK, I miss it. Didn't think I would but being back in normality I am absolutely parrotly sickened that you are doing fab stuff again and I am back in the office amusing myself with paperclips. It's just not FAIR!! Funny seeing the new camp again - I seem to remember you originally commenting on the better ride and made constructive suggestions whereas I just said "ooooooooooh, I do like the hut roofs". Sheesh!! Enjoy and keep us posted!!!!!
Long Beach Beautiful place - this is where I stay in the bungalows at the back of your picture. Meet Austrian,German and Czech friends there but they are all retired and are able to spend 2 months there!Hope to go again in Feb
After years of dreaming about it, and months of talking about it, I finally made the decision to travel. In 2006 I gave up my job and set off on an adventure to South East Asia.........and I'm still here! Last year I traveled to Sri Lanka, India and Thailand and had an amazing time, completely falling in love with the places, the people and the lifestyle - not to mention the weather. This year I returned intending to get a job, probably teaching in Bangkok I thought. When I returned I decided to revisit friends that I had made at my last port of call in 2006 where I had volunteered at an eleph... full info
