Breakfast View
View from balcony due to construction. Still good food. Catching up on the action from yesterday. Just got down to Wednesday morning breakfast. I’m still not used to which day it is. The hotel is remodeling the bar area and the front half of the dinging area. also looks like they are adding back in those crazy nightclubs from way beck when. 6:15, and there are 3 people here. Very different. Most of the seating is in the upper deck area where we never really went. Standard good breakfast as before. Now back to yesterday…..
The trip from Inchon South Korea, to Bangkok, was a bit of a blur. Video choices weren’t great and I couldn’t concentrate on my book, so I gave in to sleep, except for when I was rammed into during the meal service. We landed 15 minutes early although there was more turbulence than the long Delta flight. No more declaration papers to fill out, and Customs was even amazingly fast, especially for the middle of the day when lots of flights arrive. I was the line hold up because I didn’t have a paper boarding pass and didn’t login to the airport wifi. I’m sure there was some eye rolling going on about the
Remodeling in progress
Newest change. Remodeling the bar areas and the front part of breakfast. silly farang. Today it was baggage carousel 23, and my bags were both just coming out when I got there and grabbed the luggage cart. Taxi was easy and no significant problems getting to the hotel. Check-in wasn’t bad either. It does seem that most of the people in the lobby and checking in were from India. When my bags got to my room, it was about 3:40 and I was half thinking about skipping the workout to unpack and lay in supplies. Since that would have been the smart thing, I immediately changed and headed for the gym. I got there about 45 minutes late, but jumped right in with 6 laps. It felt good to move, and I can see it’s going to be challenging to get back into running condition this week. Good thing no one is around to hear me complain about the soon to be growing list of assorted sore things. Through my limited Thai, I tried to tell Fahlaep that I had just gotten of the airplane. I think he understood because we started really slow. I’m hoping that my conditioning is much better, because the rounds were pretty easy. At least from the
Used to be bars
Last trip, across from the restaurant, there were a bunch of jumping bars and a two story worker housing camp. Now it’s all gone and looks like more huge condos going in. breathing perspective. My shoulders are definitely the weak point right now. After the pad work, he said to take a small break and do some shadow boxing, and one round on the bags. It was a good warmup for the start of training and just getting off the airplane. I don’t expect things to be that easy as the time progresses. I think I left around 5:45, and it was just starting to get dark. On the BTS train to the hotel, it all started to catch up, and I was even thinking about skipping dinner and going to bed. I did force myself to go to the Restaurant right near the hotel. I was back in the room by 8:00, and I just couldn’t bring myself to unpack, write anything here, or even move whatever I had unpacked off the bed. I was out for the night. I did sleep for 6 hours straight, which is the best I’ve ever done on any trips here. Now I’m unpacked, a bit organized, at least with the room and clothes here, and finished breakfast. Off to 7-11 for water and to the BTS Skytrain. Still only 55 baht, which is less that $2. Just can’t beat that!
I added a couple of pictures. Nothing exciting really. Just a view of the buffet and entry, and the view across the street. Im finding it interesting to see what is the same and what is different. So far, lots of both.
