My first intention for today was to get my washing done. I have been washing bits each day, letting them dry overnight in my room, but today I seem to get a pile of clothes that need doing. Ella gave me a wake up knock on the door at about 8:45. So as soon as I finished showering and dressing, I got straight on with my washing! Thea washing was done, and on the washing line before breakfast!
As is now expected, another amazing day, another amazing breakfast, with a special mention for the very nice chocolate cake!
There were a few more new faces at the table this morning, which is always nice. You simply never know whose company you are going to enjoy each day!
My second intention is to fix the leather chair. It had been niggling at me since I arrived. We priced up a new leather cover yesterday. It would be £130 for a replacement. I told Ella that I could fix the old one! So today is the day. I used one of the laces from my sandal to do a blanket stitch fix! It’s strong, and fit for purpose! another job
done! I think I will mention to Ella that the chair would benefit from a bit of oil rubbing in to feed the leather. It would help! I did tell her, she just made a face at me … ha ha
Ella has work today, so not sure how much time we will have, but as I’ve mentioned before, that was going to happen! I realised that I haven’t shown inside Basecamp, so have added a couple of photos!
We only have about 3-4 hours today, so we got a tuk tuk to Karumba Bay. It’s a free pool and sunbathing area. It’s perfect, as we don’t have all day. It’s nice in Karumba Bay, there are 3 different restaurants, a gelato, a bar, and a few shops. We stayed and had a nice lunch. We shared a bruschetta and a loaded hummus dish. We both really enjoyed it. We stayed the full 4 hours. Nilu came back for us at about 3:30 as Ella needed to be back at Basecamp.
I decided to make use of the time. I washed my hair, then set it on rollers. It’s a good time to do it whilst
no clients are at the camp. I really don’t want to get caught out with my hair rollers.. ha ha! I also had time to bring in my dry washing, and sort out a bit of my case. I can’t believe that I leave in 2 days!!!
After the group finished their yoga class, 2 of the guests decided to join Ella at Ice. She had 2 free passes, so they were both really happy about that! A couple of tuk tuks arrived to pick us up to take us there. The girls all had a great experience, they all did the ice bath, followed by a sauna. One of the girls, Nina, pushed herself to a second ice dip! I had the espresso with tonic and lime. We were all happy.
The 4 of us then went to a restaurant called Rise, for an Italian dinner. We had a short wait as it is a really popular place to eat, but Ella wangled us a table! We had a really relaxed, good time, eating lovely food, with good company!
The tuk tuks returned to collect us at about 9:15. The girls went straight back to Basecamp,
Ella and I had a couple of Basecamp shopping detours!
I’m looking forward to my bed now. It is 10:00. It’s been another great day in paradise!
