It's my 2nd week here in Singapore and I finally tire of my solitude when everyone is out to work. So I set out to the most famous tourist spot for Filipinos - Sentosa Island/Universal Studios.
Thankful that my brother's friend and our housemate,
Joemill lent me his tripod. So, now I can do a bit of camwhoring today. You can go to Sentosa with just your Ezlink card for S$1 if you walk, or S$3 if you take the train. This is another example of how easily you can access another attraction cheaply, if not free in Singapore. Since I'm currently unemployed and living from the graces of my kind brother, I just paid for my entrance and Songs of the Sea show. It's no fun to try all the rides and activities by yourself anyways. Who would complain at your shrieking and make fun of you afterwards? As I said it's just a first of many visits. (True enough, between the time I went there and this post, I have been there like 4 times already. Each time we tried to do a different activity. So dear friends and family as your host and planner of your itineraries,
you only have a few more attractions left to choose from, if you choose outside my list you already have to treat me instead of me treating you :P hehe.)
I'm spreading some good karma today by offering strangers to take their pictures. I can just remember those vacations where I don't get to have a picture with my travel buddy/ies. Then after the trip, someone ask where is so and so and you say oh, he's still part of that as he/she is the one holding the camera taking the picture. It's still more fun to reminisce when you get to see everyone on the same picture. Even worse if you're a couple on vacation or honeymoon. My day is mostly me taking my pictures, other's picture, people watching and eavesdropping. It was so much fun. Another advantage of travelling solo, is being inconspicuous. It's much easier to observe everyone around you. I just tucked everything I saw and heard in a corner of my mind. I know I can make use of these experiences when I will be a "serious" writer eventually.
The Songs of the Sea show was nice but lack a bit of appeal
Songs of the Sea
Lights and Water
Singing and Dancing to me as I already watched the Light and Water at the Marina Bay Sands a few weeks ago(for free!). But this is a good alternative if you are not able to go the Marina Bay area at night. Also, I was hoping Ariel from Little Mermaid would do a cameo but she's not there.
Another, blessed day! I will not attempt to see and experience everything in Sentosa for a day, it just isn't enough and I don't want associate this place to exhaustion. The rest will have to wait for the coming visits, and for sure there will be more picture to come with the famed Universal Studios globe. 😊
