Right then, i'm writing this a few days late but at last we have a decent internet connection. We arrived in Singapore last Monday and our booked 4-bed dorm had somehow changed into a 17 person hellhole. Considering it was about 300 degrees outside we wernt too happy but Singapore was just too expensive to go anywhere else.
So we slept in and in the morning Sarah had a bite or two on her arms which we thought nothing of. That day was spent walking around looking at the normal sights - Raffles Hotel and Clarkes Quay. As evening came along, Sarah was itching more and more and we discovered roughly a million bites on her arms and legs. It was definitely bed bugs and needless to say she wasnt too happy!! We complained at the hostel and got moved to a different dorm but they said there wasnt much else they could do - looks like her luck still hasnt changed!!
The next day we decided to go to the zoo!!! Definitely a bit better than Jersey but we only lasted until mid-afternoon before deciding that we needed to go and have a few beers. Hence our final
evening there consisted of commiserating with a few Europeans who were unable to get home because of the volcano (which we had only just found out about!) Got royally drunk which was never going to be a good idea with a 7am flight to Indonesia the next day but we somehow got out in time and managed to get to the supposed Worlds best airport, or so it said on the signs everywhere
