This will be really short. I am now in the Philippines, sunburned and hot, at a beach called Sabang (near Puerto Galera). It scenery is beautiful, the people so friendly and the weather is ideal. It is all wonderful besides the massive sex trade industry this place brings. Everywhere you look there are old, balding, not at all attractive men with these beautiful, tiny, young Philippino women. It's crazy because the town is so small and there are so many. I'm not going to get into it right now though. I have been on 4 dives, including my first night dive, and the aquatic life here is almost overwelming. The dives all went by so fast, so much t see:) I don't know half the names but one of the guys was talikng pics and I ... read more

Small Laguna Beach, Mindoro Nov. 29 - Dec. 5 Upon arrival to the Philippines, we headed straight away to Mindoro, a large island south of Manila. In the lagunas, we found a small area but nicely built up with mostly dive shops, bars and restaurants. We stayed with this nice Filipino family with 2 small children for Zachary to play with right down from the beach. The island is quite beautiful though the beach itself wasn't great. For my birthday on the 30th, we had a delicious steak and shrimp dinner in front of the sea which comes right up the restaurant stairs at night - high tide. I also did some diving and Justin went snorkelling at Mindoro is supposed to be one of the best places in the Philippines to dive. I haven't ... read more

after a very exhausting yet enjoying company outing in batangas, a group of auditors invited us to join them in puerto galera... aboard the overloaded banca, we headed for puerto galera first boat trip in the morning from batangas... travelled for almost 45 mins and landed at white beach... t'was summer hot... after settling in an overnight accommodation, we savored the beach for a few hours and decided to go snorkeling at the other side of the island... it was fun, though i m quite tired and actually hesitated going, i still joined. the beach is as so with most of the Philippine's beaches - very beautiful in sight and in experience - ... so many colorful fishes which you can actually touch... one of us actually got a starfish which is the first time ... read more

April 23-25, 2004 Need a break from a strenous work week? Then, Galera is the place for you to spend a relaxing weekend. Just three hours away from Manila, you can break away with the busy streets of the Metro and smell the morning sea-breeze, laze in the powdery fine sands, and party off all night. Activities - Snorkling - Island Hopping - Night Clubbing Tips - Scout for cheap accomodations; there are houses along the area who offers transient accomodations. - Try to haggle. (w/ the island tour ride, massage, pasalubong items) More pics: Puerto Galera Getting There: In Pasay, ride a Tritran/any bus going to Batangas Pier. From Batangas pier, there are ferry boats going to the island. I recommend MV Brian, as this is the largest boat. ... read more

It was our semestral break in school. Me and my school buddies decided to go to puerto galera to have some fun. We boarded JAM transit in pasay going to batangas pier. As Puerto Galera was not yet fully developed (not sure) at that time, there was no tourist around except for a couple whom we met while we were having lunch. the place was very nice and actually almost paradise. am looking forward to visit galera again. "Puerto Galera is a coastal town well known among tourists coming to the Philippines for its numerous beaches ad many snorkeling and dive spots. The marine environment has benefited in recent years from the influx of tourist dollars. This has seen a huge reduction in the number of fishermen in the area, as they gain higher revenue from ... read more
